A few images of the snow that is still on the ground at home this afternoon. Im really surprised by how long it is lasting. Probably because of a combination of really cold frosty nights and absolutely no drizzle or rain since the snow stopped falling early on Saturday morning.
I went out around the mountain today and snow is still evident around the cow paddocks at Alton and Hascombe at the top of Alton Road, which is around the same elevation as my place (870m). There is plenty in the Llama paddock ( up to 900m) at Duneira across the road from me.
Up on the summit of the mountain there are still a few good drifts and smatterings of snow despite al the touristy wear and tear
Cameron drive was actually still icy in shady areas, a bit scary!
This is definitely the longest ive had this much snow on the ground at home and i imagine it will be there until it gets rained on laster in the week.
A top day up here today, bright sun, no wind and a frost. Temp -2C to 4Cmax
Just dropped back to 0C now
