Well 5mm in the first band and 2.5mm in a second heavy shower. All unwelcome up here and in desperate need of a fine and hot few weeks. Still cannot even start harvest due to moisture in the grain and wet ground conditions. Today's rain could downgrade grain even more and so the financial drought continues

Absolutely belting down here in Sunshine, surprised as the radar hardly has anything at all on it.

Hardly anything here today. We did get a few brief heavy showers around lunchtime but it wouldn't have added up to much.

One thing it has been though is dark, cold and miserable. Much more like winter than the week before Christmas. At least Christmas itself is looking like perfect weather.

On these sort of days, you either want it to Pour down or at least have some sunny breaks. It hasn't done either here today.

Growing increasingly dark to the W. I expect 5 mm+ out of this line of heavy showers/thunderstorms.

Can see a wall cloud approaching. Should be interesting.

There must be something around for the digital TV signal to keep cutting out. The sky does look unstable.

I've just looked at the satellite image on the WZ site, VIC and noticed a nice round cloud forming of Mt Gambier. Does it look like to anyone else that is slight rotating :-?
Try the Mt Gambia one too. You can see it a little better although pixelated.

Looks like a shelf cloud associated with a gust front, Heather. It's downdrafts/outflow causing it.

I got caught in that heavy shower at about 4pm out near Chadstone, gutters were flowing quite fast in some places and driving on the Monash was enjoyable as always.

Here in Hawthorn we've just had a brief very heavy shower, expecting this to continue for much of the evening in the form of stream showers off the bay.

Good to hear of another storm hitting back home in Sale. I'm missing all of them at the moment!
