Went down the bay, abt 10 to 8 there was a lowering and a funnel kicking up water in a typical waterspout way abt 1km off shore. The cry "mini tormado}" was heard on Seaford Pier. It wasne me.

All a bit overstated on the radar. Its there, but not falling to the ground as the radar suggests, just passing over like summer rain shower/ feet / curtains, not solid rain bands.

Edit 8.47 sunset going off here, sunset alert for west looking east!

From the Vic Police
Large parts of Kyneton township flooded - residents asked to remain inside. Remember - Do not drive through flood waters

"Bradman" and I chased today, despite the conjecture about the convection and embedded storms with elevated dewpoints. Our target was Finley, changing from the overnight target of Echuca/Deniliquin. Quite a few early storms displayed shortlived organisation on the way north, and a couple of decent efforts from a cell near Deniliquin, but it wasn't until later in the day near Bundure and the Steam Plains (north of Jerilderie) that the storms really got going. A massive HP supercell produced fantastic structure for an extended period and was well isolated, while smaller classic provided with simulataneous gorgeous opportunities for photography. The GFS provided a beautiful guide again...has been performing very reliably all season. Will be watching tomorrow as similar opportunities exist. After reading the discussion about dewpoints and storm mode/behaviour, the argument that high dewpoints exclude or limit good storm development seems to not necessarily be the case. The soundings for our chase target today always showed good potential for organised severe storms.

Just pathetic outside, surely it has to let go during the night. By 3am im fully expecting massive areas of thunderstorms and rain across the state. Also very interesting the flow has now tended Northerly again so those showers and storms should come straight down through Central areas.

23.8mm for the event, slowly creeping up.
