25.9mm from that lot, now there are towers developing out East and the directional flow has changed, now we are into NE.

Party time peoples, tomorrow could be a huge day for us.
Not disagreeing with you by any means anthony, but what makes tomorrow different to today?

AMazing falls, the airport will surely have had some disruptions.
Stopped raining here presently. In that last shower activity we recorded 12mm. Just curious, where are your figures from VRB20G45?

Thanks :D It is interesting to see the variation you can have in one suburb let alone from suburb to suburb.

Warmer, more NE flow even better when seabreeze clashes with it Stevco, clearer air, Upper low closer to us (even though its weakening but in these cases it doesn't matter)

I left the Dandenongs at 3.45pm to drive to the city just as the rain hit. What a trip! It followed me all the way. White out conditions most of the way. Had to pull over a few times before the Monash freeway but once on there not much I could do. Of course I think the heaviest rain was near Karl's surburb lol

Flash flooding as storms roll across Melbourne
ABC
December 1, 2010, 5:16 pm

Storms have caused flash flooding in Melbourne's east.

Emergency services say about 80 properties have been flooded in the Croydon and Lilydale areas.

State Emergency Service spokesman Lachlan Quick says part of the Maroondah Highway is also under water.

"Probably 60 to 70 centimetres of water across it, which is very dangerous for a main road and we would urge people not to use that," he said.

Sergeant Peter Williams says the ground floor of the Croydon police station has been flooded after the sudden downpour.

"It's caused extensive damage to the carpet so there'll be repairs needed to be done there," he said.

The SES says there is the potential for more floods in the Sunbury area.

Please forgive my ignorance, but as the trough moves back to the west, why does it not take the heavy rain with it? I've always thought the higher upslide was closest to the trough, and therefore would produce the heaviest rainfall.

Outrageous! What an outrageous day of weather. Another 30.4mm here from the downpout with 20mm in 20mins. Work finished on around 35mm 4km down the road. It was horrendous!

Still a few fresh showers going up to the north and east of me but largely calming down.

Well Norweigen had 0.3mm today....hmmmmm :?:

And the warning is out for this hour but the system has largely weakened.... :?

Upper low is wrapping the rain around it and this upper low sits NW of Mildura which will sink south. The trough is embedded in the NNE winds.

And here comes EC!! If it doesnt go bananas tonight then its useless.. Expect a big upgrade tonight..

26.4mm in total, amazing. And for tomorrow i would be putting out the warnings now, especially if we have any semblance of clearance during the morning.

I nam calling it 50mm in my gauge. Might in fact be a tad less, but damn close. And considering I was expecting nothing, inredible.

Oh and the best news is I think I beat Karl's total today, which is unheard of!

Oh no it is not!! lol! We can go toe to toe a lot of the time. 50mm sounds like a good drop there. 60-70mm from about Rooks Rd in Mitcham-Manchester Rd in Chirnside looks to be the heaviest of it.

Keep an eye on the showers which are being poorly read behind the Dandenongs which could erupt as they head over the Dandenongs over the coming hours.

Yeah I know but I like to stir you up ;)

It is amazing how much we have had here this year. I haven't got a running total, and I don't trust the Melbourne Water gauges. They at times read nothing, or read almost double what I record, which is impossible over such a close distance, especially in the general rain events.

Anyone got a YTD total in the area?
