Links in the forum

Post by daviescr »

Hi Admin,
Just a thought about the functionality / useability of the forum...
I'm not an expert in HTML by any stretch, but I'm just wondering if it would be possible to change the way hyperlinks on the forum work? Right now, if you click a link, it moves that page on to where you click to.
I'd like to see it where external links will either open a new window, or a new tab in the browser. Would that be possible?

I know you can right click and choose 'open link in new tab' or 'open link in new window', but that's just a pain when you are on your iPhone or whatever, but personally it would make the browsing experience a little more fluid....

Thanks! :)

Hey Chris,

Have found the relevant code to perform such action, but will test again during "off-peak" times. Tried 5 mins ago and the site went blank! :P

When posting links, please do the following:

1. Copy link and paste into post
2. Highlight link
3. Click on "URL" button above the posting body (between Img & Flash)

This will ensure that a new window is opened when a link is clicked on.
