Yep same area that copped it a week ago chris is again the past 24 hours.Looks like my parents native country has copped it hard of late, heavy rain from the South wrapping around a cold front and low in France bringing in huge amounts of moisture over Northern and NW Italy in particular with Genoa the hardest City hit with 7 people dead in flash flooding and cars being swept away in the torrent of flood. I had been following it on UK and EC for days before it hit and have been bang on target with this event with more rain to come through the region over the next 48-72 hours.
Thanks crikey, i can find radars for the north and central, but not south ! The rain up in the north must have been really heavy; it all began to flood in just 15 - 30 min (News here said..). I was tracking rainfall totals on this website... http://italian.wunderground.com/wunderm ... d.type=00Q" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Good heavens.. that is sad news. A port . not even the mountains or valleys.Italy can ill afford extra expenses from natural disasters
You can see on the images below some storms approaching the north.Looks pretty full on there at the moment 8.20pm melbourne time when l looked
Some of our satellite images are color enhanced. Located at the top of the map, a key shows how the color of cloud tops relates to how cold they are. Occasionally, the highest, coldest cloud tops produce the heaviest precipitation.
