Looks like it's starting to unravel now slowly.
The moment bom issues a severe thunderstorm warning for my area, it dies off 2 minutes later
Now just rain
Frequent lightening and booming thunder bayside for the last half hour, now with moderate rain. Melb dewpoint 20c and doesn’t it feel like it.
Dust will be settled here in time for the next scorcher tomorrow.
Very active here Ballarat lots of Ligtning some very close
started at about 8.30pm and easing now 11.20pm but still
The odd rumble.
18mm's so far for me in Sebastopol 14 mm's at Ballarat Airport.
My max today was 36.6c Airport reached 36.9c
Still going pretty nuts outside. Absolutely pouring down here in Templestowe with frequent lightning and thunder. It's strange the BOM suggests there's a 80% chance of no rain.
Top of 37 here at 1000 ft elevation yesterday. A few strong southerly gusts on the wind change around 7pm - and thats it! Not a drop and total silence outside. Temp 21 atm (early Monday morning).
Climbed into a real bed 2am,
The dog was still not happy then,
That sounds and lights were something we’ve not had before - or since the memory fades…
3.51mm.
Great to see the rain last night. Best in west central and central for a while. Some really handy falls, such as 40mm in Halls Gap. Unfortunately patchy, and in the Grampians it misses the fire ground to the southwest. Eases the fire risk where rain was better and gives the forests and gardens a drink which was really needed.
Another stinker today. Better showers and storm chance for Tasmania. Still a chance for Victoria, but less widespread. Tomorrow is similar.
Just 4mm at Aireys Inlet, pretty much a total bust again for the Otways and south west coast, Frightening amounts of lightning, see if that results in anything fire wise today. Pretty much rained in the areas it has in the past two years and missed everywhere else.

We ended up with a round two last night that took our total to 45mm.
Ecstatically happy with that! I was not expecting anything.
Excellent news Macedonian. 44mm here (and spot falls nearby to 66mm). I'll have to check records later but that would be our highest daily total for ages, for any month.
Bugger for Lighthouse and Didjman though . It is very frustrating when heavy rain is nearby and you miss out, and doubly so in a drought. I know the feeling!
