My want of no storms (severe) is stronger than James want of storms and they have missed our path nicely… probably split around the mountain as they have known to do in the past…
Gee..some red and black….
And dryish washing..…

Yeah... a bit meh. Like there's a forcefield. Got a nice downpour but most cells go east or west of us, or come towards me, die, and then redevelop once they pass my area

Just going through round 4 for the day here. Massive rain rates in this drenched atmosphere. The 3pm cell dumped 12mm in 5 mins! Flash flooding all around Elwood and area. Just hit 50mm for the event since it started early this morning. Cells just materialising out of nowhere at times.

Seems to be over almost. Wind has turned a cooler southerly,l. Port philip bay surely needs a drink of water, so glad they're copping it

Felt like there was a microburst in bayside earlier riding home torrential in Elwood and trees down and firies pumping out properties in Brighton with trees down - one across the tracks at middle Brighton station - and a real mess.

Crazy system out there. Melbourne humidity record was comprehensively broken this morning by 0.6C, so no surprise the cells have been absolute dumpers. Lots of spots scored 25mm in around 20 minutes today, though small size meant plenty of people missed the best of it. Down here in Tas just murk and rain. Cloud basically at sea level with rain, drizzle and fog. Solid falls in the north with quite a few topping 30mm, but only light in the south.
This parts starting to clear for Victoria, but round two is now inbound for Tasmania. Should be a wet day for Tasmania tomorrow. Then the biggest part develops for Saturday. That’s gonna have nasty storms and rain for Victoria, and heavy rain down here, possibly flooding. The low is one of the meanest I’ve seen in a while. There is then another low for Monday into Tuesday. Crazy getting more weather in a week than we’ve had for about three months

47mm for the event
Hopefully that’s it for the real heavy stuff
I don’t mind rain but my humble abode can’t cope with those dumpers
I get the feeling this type of torrential rain is the new norm with the warming Oceans

Unfortunately I've been indoors during all the action today at work.
However I can report my PWS at home in Truganina recorded a total of 45.8mm. About 23 km directly west of the CBD. Great totals for this area!

Drier air for Victoria today so expecting fine or nearly so. Quite hot air so will be toastie away from sea breezes. Much moister over Tasmania with heavy rain in the north and showers, drizzle and fog in the south. Friday then looks like a bit of an inbetween day before the big ECL for the weekend. Perhaps a new thread for that system?
