Wow, hadn’t picked that little storm near Moorabbin Airport 😳 That area has really copped it this year. Thats near 250mm in six weeks.

Today is a bit of a waiting day, with showers and storms developing late in western VIC and over the coast west of TAS, moving through both states early Thursday. It’s got very good precipitable water values, locally over 50mm in VIC and over 40mm for TAS. Which mean heavy falls on the trough though the band is a bit patchy (particularly for VIC).

Might well approach 30C down here in southern TAS which will be our first for summer if we get there.

Btw next week looks 😳😬 Progs have it all, but not consistent. It will get extremely hot for southern inland Australia. Apart from that details for VIC and TAS a bit unclear. Probably warm with rain here, but VIC could see three days well into the 40s or sit just south of the heat and have cloud and 30s. GFS which is hotter than most puts 50C down to near Mildura.

Picked up the edge of the storm last night
Plenty of action though with lots of lightning and 15.4mm rain
That was the 3rd weather event from the NE ..very unusual ;)

Significant day today. For vic a solid rainband, though will be a bit patchy in the north. It’s not overly heavy but with high precip water values and some embed storms and slow movement would think a good inch for many. Having been hotter and drier don’t expect too many issues, though the local flash type flooding is always a risk with precip water values around 50mm.

For Tas showers and storms building into a rainband. Some storms. This clear then we get a second burst of showers and storms near a developing low late in the day. It’s really dry down here atm so and inch or two will be welcome by most.

Showers Thursday and Friday, particularly in southern parts.

I can see this cold front delivering 20-30mm, easy.

Rain settling in nicely here at work. Just finished moving the indoor plants outside for another decent drink. Should pick-up about 10mm here.

Pouring in Macedon. The green summer continues. I haven't put the watering system on since about the 12/12. Quite remarkable. Wish every year was like this.

Beautiful rain this morning. No wind, just heavy tropical-like rain and fog. Almost 20mm so far.

Yeah same up here. Just started again in Mansfield and quite heavy now. Expecting 30-50mm today depending on storm development.

Just shy of 30mm here since 9:30 so heavy but can't see where the 100mm + falls would be occurring given the front/rainband is moving quite quickly east with nothing much behind it looking at the satellite :?

Ended up with just over 20mm here, so double my earlier estimates.
