In many (but not all) parts of Victoria - yes.

00Z GFS is throwing up a pretty big system involving an inland cut-off Low that could dump a lot of rain across the State around Good Friday....

After a hot and muggy 30C yesterday, evening storms brewed around Nth Central Gippsland which preceded a misty period into the night, then steady rain set in late at night and persisted till early arvo here. We missed rain from last evening's storms, but the rain period delivered an amazing 58mm here. So after 20mm over the previous fortnight, yep, we have certainly got our Autumn break in this area.

Signs of a low pressure system to come into play circa next Tuesday to me, ....something to watch as that would lead to light flooding after the good rains up on the divide in the Macalister catchment past 24hrs.

Was shorts to start the day, then multiple layers as evening approached.

21mm, yes noticed little patches as grass (weeds) sprouting in driveway,
Crunchy disappeared quickly.

That developing ECL almost got here then hit a brick wall. Would be well north of 100mm today over the east Australian current. Locally close to 50mm in very eastern parts of Tas. 0.2mm here.

Fantastic falls for central and eastern vic which is good to see. Been lucky with the highs locally way south the last week with big cutoffs. Active eastern Indian Ocean is clearly feeding this recurring pattern.

Quite strong front coming up tonight and tomorrow which will put some light snow onto the alps on the mainland and peaks down here. Then a nice weekend.

Another big system next week just in time of Easter. Jumping all over the place in the progs, so hard to know exactly where and when :?

I tipped out 40mm late this afternoon for rain since yesterday morning. Autumn is officially here and it’s finally cooling off.

After an initial period of heavy rain yesterday morning (which I missed due to working in the city) which appeared to deliver the first half of the rain, we had our favoured south westerly exposure kick in with regular stream showers, heavy at times, establishing during the night and continuing throughout this morning. Was largely clear during the afternoon, but we’re still getting the odd drizzly shower.

Have Still been getting regular misty/drizzly/light showers throughout the day. New band of heavier showers approaching from the SW.

I am now! Our '0-3mm' forecast for today is up to 7.5mm so far, making 34mm for the week. Local farmers regard the break as a one inch (25mm) fall between St Patricks Day and Anzac Day. Greening up nicely.

(PS: That low late next week is looking impressive on several charts.)

A good result here, with 20mm. And well above the forecast.

Currently 8.1c, so quite a cool evening and heading for a cool day tomorrow. Summer has gone.

New thread for Easter ?
Have the option to escape Melb only if weather’s good.

Happy to see 27c during this week.
