My memory fades….. how many very very hot days in a row did we get, was this that event in 2014.
I do know it was far too many….
Just the one 40 degree day in feb that year 2014. Under 41.i was looking at the stats yesterday. The number of 40 degree days the last 10 years locally have fallen off a cliff.

Managed to find the hole in the rain here once again, with just 1mm.

At least temps continue to be mild; mostly staying short of 30C, and remarkably cool nights even before/ after hot days - which makes a big difference. Happy if I never see another 40C day and not missing them! Ballarat January record was 42C on 25/1/2003.

Received one mm of rain overnight, Airport got 0.6mm's
Takes my MTD to 9.8mm's - Airport to 8.4mm's - monthly ave is 42mm's
December was below average as well so could use some decent rain now.
BTW someone asked about the Melbourne heatwave of 2014.
It was in Mid January 2014 with 4 consecutice days over 41c including 2 of those days over 43c

Bendigo had a 40c on Feb 3, 2019.

Last time we had a 40c was January 25, 2021.

Spoke to soon, another 4mm this afternoon. I'll take what we can get!

Fizzer for most, but some record falls overnight in the northeast. Albury scoring 115mm, Hunters Hill 137mm and still raining, both records by some margin. Seemed to be quite an benign system and bang :o

Yes, an amazing dump of rain from Wodonga to the Snowys; many 100mm plus totals now and Hunters Hill has hit 150mm to 9am. Pretty sure not a single model came even close to picking this?

Stuck on a mighty 5mm here for the last couple of days. Steady light drizzle may give us a touch more. Atmosphere feels so wet, just need that elusive trigger!
