36mm for the event here. MTD is now 93mm.

A bit on the cool side currently, but otherwise a sunny spring morning.

Relentlessly cold, wet and grey here, no sign of spring so far this month! Haven't topped 14C and averaging about 10C for maximums. Just a little bit of sun and warmth would be nice... Can't see any break in this pattern though, except maybe a single day on Thursday.

31mm for the dates and 63.5mm mtd. Local creeks and rivers are in minor flood or almost.

Yeah wet event for much of the state and driving to Mildura and back on the weekend its green, the crops look great and lots of big puddles around and more rain on the way espically for the Mallee and alog the Murray.

21mm here last 3 days things are wet that for sure

Def over the cold least few mild days on the way

Another 15-30mm with isol heavy falls for the Mallee and parts of the Wimmera and North Country next 48 hours with the next low, but less than 15mm for many and almost none south of the ranges

Another strong front early next week with another 10-20mm for most

Just waiting for the big one now

2mm for us over the backside of the weekend. MTD on 40mm, so tracking about prorata for the month. Been about average for us temperature rise with 17, 15 and 15C the last three days. Should see a frost this morning. Am reporting from the US with our first holiday in three years so on the wrong time zone :P

Impressive snowfalls with this last event, though only above about1500m. Reports of 50-80cm at the majors, with Hotham scoring it’s peak snow depth for the year with ~170cm. That looks to be about the long term average nowadays, but peaks this late are becoming rarer as springs warm. Well timed for the resorts with school holidays on :D

Messy cut off coming up. Totals jumping as it’s slow moving and fades then redevelops. Could be more heavy falls, but hit and miss. Is now feeling pretty classical La Niña with negative IOD with all the lows forming in our general area.

Btw another La Niña signature is early season heat in northern Australia. There’s been repeated early season national records set in northern parts this last week, peaking at 41.8C at Bradshaw which is the hottest before the equinox. Also scattered minimum records, including Cairns with 24.4C. Could make for some early season heat in southern parts when we eventually get a long northerly fetch.

For those who watch such things obsessively (as I do :)) latest Spencers Ck snow depth is in: 232cm on 20/9/22! Very solid result for this late in the season; at a glance, only beaten once in the last 25 years.

Big rains in the Mallee overnight. Walpeup with 34mm so far.

We've had just 1mm (currently light rain).

Yeah Mallee did very well overnight widespread 20-35mm for many :D :D :D continues near perfect season bar the no rain in July up there.

None in south but not needed so good to see it go to those that need it and will finish crops off nicely up there

Mild few days ahead Cold Fri Sat with weak front then stronger front early next week with another 10-20mm for much of the state.

Big snowfalls many in the 170-210cm base so that will all melt next 4 to 6 weeks aiding all the flooding yet to come

Except poor old Mt Buller who is on 76cm natural depth.

I'm in the Echuca/Cohuna area the last 2 days. Trust me when i say this area, and indeed the whole state, does not need any rain.

I have to add this very sad and proven incorrect quote from a few years ago: "even the rain that falls isn't going to fill our dams..."

Yep the state is soaked only the far NW could take a bit more but already had 50 to 70mm this month after 25 to 35mm last night.

Driving to Mildura last week water on the sides of road all the way up large puddles in spots too and Lake Tryell near Sea lake is full normally empty salt lake

Yeah true re Buller just that bit to low compare to hotham falls and snowys

Yep almost all dams full now just Eildon and Eppolock to go?

Next 7 days not looking to bad maybe ECL and heavy rain into gippy next week bears watching.

Equinox! And ironically today is likely to be our first over 20c since April 26th.

We had 4.5mm yesterday, so just over 45mm for the past week.

Next week has a lot of uncertainty in it. Could be nothing, could be another 40mm with a strong cold front and snow-bearing system...

Few good days here, yesterday couple spots of near nothing mizzle, hearing reports of flooding now and future around the state.
My boy very excited to see Eildon so full this morning. Statement was recalls last time full 1980’s, my first times there and it was klm walks to find water in the Delitite which was a creek.

What’s the lowest highest max for Melbourne in a September?

So far it’s only 21.1 for Olympic Park.

Last year 8 days above this!

Surely Sept 1992 would be a contender. Hottest that year was 19.1c!

A shock 15mm here since midnight. Rain was heavy at times. Can barely walk here it’s so wet. Lake Eildon at 99% and will hit the ton tomorrow. Where to from here? If the state gets what’s models are saying
