Heavily rain shadowed here unfortunately. Still managed to pick up 0.4mm earlier this afternoon, but not sure if there will be much more than that!

Another 8mm here since 9 am makes 25mm since it started midafternoon yesterday; and an even 40mm for the week. Nice :).

Not over yet by the looks of the blob coming up from the south.

Frustrating day with rain largely spinning around us. About 4mm so far. Was expecting a fair bit more than that today, to be honest. Perhaps it will start cranking soon.

Plenty of good falls around, though not quite the bumper falls we might have hoped for. Still, lots of places should end up near their monthly average by the end of the event.

No dud here approaching 40mm now and rain continuing. Biggest 24hrs for some time. Lot's of gushers flowing into Eildon so should reach 60% tomorrow.

I'm just on the right side of the donut hole. 43mm since midnight and 72mm since Sunday evening.
A great event in what is often one of our driest months.
Cold again today 7.8C max.

Hmm... Could well be something in it still. Great to see it developing overhead on the radar, and can definitely feel the intensity rising outside.

15mm for the event now.

Gimme 25mm total before 9am tomorrow and I promise I won't call you a dud anymore :D

Incredible totals in Tas again TD. Still coming down here passing through 50mm for the event so far. May get another 10-20mm by morning looking at the radar.

After a slow start been cranking all night here. 31mm in the gauge and still coming down thickly. A big topographic signal with totals about 1/3 to 1/2 off the range.

Should continue for much of today.

Looking like next week will bring more humidity with multiple days showing the potential for thunderies :D

Another 11mm since yesterday morning. That takes us to 38mm for the week. Definitely not a fizzer here.

Next week sees about 15mm possible, and GFS reckons something big around Oct 22. Probably too much really - some crops need a bit of drying off!

Fizzer overnight here, nothing but windy filth! :cussing:

Unfortunately nowhere near the amount of rain I was hoping for, but guess that's to be expected in the boredom zone.
Will be back to watering plants early next week.

At least it will be mainly dry for my son's special day tomorrow (his birthday, born 10/10/10 & tomorrow turns 10). :D

My sister built a house near Rockbank, and naturally the first thing that went up was my weather station. The climate couldn't be more different compared to the south east. That area on that side might as well be part of a different country. It is nothing like the rest of Melbourne. More like Alice Springs with all the dryness and red earth.

Made up a bit of ground with that Rain yesterday and overnight, still a bit drizzly now.
19.6mm's up to 9am this morning giving me 26.2mm's in the last 48 hours.
MTD now 46.5mmm's. So not too bad. Ballarat Airport had 14.2mm's up to 9am
so 26.4mm's in the last 48 hours there.
Melbourne Olympic park really missed out just 6.6mm's in the last 48 hours.

It was certainly a shock to the system when I moved here 12 years ago, especially when it came to the clay soils & climate. The soils don't bother as much as you learn very quickly how to work with them. Climate on the other hand, well that's a different matter as your know doubt fully aware of through my constant ranting. :P

I probably notice the difference in climate more than most having properties on either side of the bay. The fact that the climate is so different out here is probably the main reason behind my criticisms of the BOM's "all eggs in one basket" approach to some of the Melbourne forecasts.

Anyways, enough rambling. Not a lot happening here, just more gusty westerlies.
Event virtually over for this area. Time to look ahead to the next major system.
