The wind is already very nasty here and it looks like it’s going to increase as the day progresses. Some of the gusts out west are spectacular!

Already 37c and 70 km/h gusts. Lucky the grass is still a bit green around these parts.

0.1c off the November record for the current AWS site (40.2c vs 40.3c). Howling Northerly gusting to 40 kts. Filthy.
There is a 1862-1957 Nov record of 41.4c. That might even be at risk.

I know everyone complains about wind here but I find days like today being so hot and windy the worst!

Cool change is expected around 3-4pm here. That grassfire near Clunes isn't good at all.
Temp has hit 41.0c...

I thought I was hearing things...but yes that was a rumble of thunder. Very eerie looking dusty sky, not a good day for dry lightning.

Ended up hitting 41.9c. So hottest November temp ever.
Change is just to our West. Winds are gusting to 80 km/h. Humidity 6%. Sky is brown.
Bad fire near Rochester now.

The MOST DANGEROUS period for bushfires to start is when this line of dry storms go through. Lightning strikes galore according to the weaherzone radar
Very tense out there especially north and east VIC, but thank God we had okay rains down in the south.

The sky has turned a markedly grey/ brown colour. A lot of dust being lifted up.. shocking weather.
Not liking those storms. Fingers crossed

Half of Bendigo is out of power now. Mostly tree branches to blame. Sky is getting a darker shade of brown. Winds gusting to 50 kts. All a bit apocalyptic now.
