Feeling quite cool here this afternoon in a ENE breeze with sun
Just checking obs' for today, 2pm.
Its 19 deg but feels like 13deg c ! Going to put jumper on.
The dew points have been very low. Between minus 6 and zero since 9am.

Yes, it was cold this morning. Coldest morning of the year for you. wow.
It was 4.3deg c in Coolongatta at 6.00am

Had the heater on this morning and winter clothes.
4hrs later at 10am it has warmed quickly to 18.deg c
That is an increase of 14 deg in 4hrs. another wow.

Crikey, You highlighted my daily temp anomaly...As of yesterday the anomaly for the month was barely positive at +0.08C. Last 24 hour temps have pushed the monthly anomaly back to the negative.

The tip of a trough might bring a few drops of rain to a dry coastal NSW/ QLD border.

Dry long grass on the coastal foreshore at Fingal heads. Dry and brown on the coolongatta foreshore.My garden is dry. Any drops appreciated.
Also noting a tropical dip in WA interior there. With some localised precip'. Maybe a change in synoptic pattern underway as winter closes soon?

I am happy to post this good news

August 28th 2019
Is this the start of the SE QLD storm season.
Here we have a small tropical dip in isobars aligning with a protrusion of the westerly belt (troughing).
We have a 500 and 200hPa trough supporting the surface albeit this upper troughing sits a tad west of the surface trough line.
Add in a tropical moisture stream down the 155w longitude line and voila’ we have what is likely to be our first significant weather event.

The first signs of this upcoming tropical troughing appearing on the surface synoptic tomorrow . Monday the 25th Aug.The dip commences west of the divide in QLD tomorrow with no precip' but wondering if we will start to see some cloud development on that trough line initiating.
The first signs of a few drops tomorrow afternoon about 1pm and into the afternoon,with a weak precip signal .
A line running from Sydney to the hinterlands of the sunshine coast
