Very strong winds down here, now watching the rain do its thing and rebuild over the bay to smash us soon. This could be productive as it is in this setup

Hasn't amounted to much so far. Some dribs and drabs but mainly just blustery wind. Hoping it builds

Just 2mm overnight - about half the amount the forecast models were anticipating.

Not expecting much on Thursday-Friday either. 10mm if we're lucky.

2mm, just missed the heavier band which went south and dropped double figures nearby. Main course is tomorrow evening and Friday for here. Latest EC and Access R still showing 30 to 50mm.

Nice wet night here with 12mm. Burst of showers inbound that would be with us in a few hours. Wouldn’t be surprised if this pushes up to 20mm for the first part.

Next system slowing down a bit and waving with a weak low forming. Will increase the period of rain, and tend to spread it around as the flow will be more north-south with upslide in the warm sector and then strong warm air advection behind the system. Expect this to be the best system for the year in central areas (which isn’t saying a lot :o ).

Solid snowfalls on the alps, which should stick for a while further inland, but anticipate Baw Baw, Lake Mt etc will see drizzly rain on the backend of the system.

19mm here and still raining so should hit 20mm by 9am. That would make 78.5mm mtd; putting us 10mm over our May average.

If the rest of the week plays out as forecast we will be starting to make a dent in what has been a shocking ytd.

Great to see that turnaround. Our MTD is a little under 50mm, so still about 60mm to reach average. We could get there by Saturday. At this point, really need a 200mm month here to put us on track for the year. Hopefully we get one ;)

BTW here a photo of that dust storm (one of many) for future reference :D I wonder if it creates any issues for the grapes???

Had 6 mm last night, not bad, on top of the 20 mm that fell last week. The hills have a tinge of green on them now.

4mm recorded overnight at home, so yet another ordinary result. Really hope the next front produces something substantially better.

Another couple brings it to 4mm here. Good start.

EC latest (new 18Z timing), showing the upper trough lingering near the S.A border tomorrow night. Jet stream will be sitting over central parts with 700 hPa looking very juicy below. This looks like a large synoptic scale 2000 km long, slow moving rain band to me.
