The forground light is from the house carport light, flicked on for 10seconds of the 30sec exposure. Took some getting right with one of the sisters inside... lol.

Well thanks to you I ran out the back and had a crack, I only have an 18-55mm zoom which only goes down to f5 and because I don't have a cable release I tried to lock my mirror up but it cancelled out the timer so I just had to settle for a 30sec exposure which turned out OK after a quick touch up in Aperture but not as much as I thought it would. I've always had a fascination with the stars so THANK YOU, they worked out OK!
I'll need to work on them more, god bless the pointers for something to focus on, lol. Cheers Rikki, I really appreciate you popping up your settings. Hey how did the wedding shoot go?
Yeah I was happy with how the turned out, and they and their respective parties loved them. So that's the main thing. With their permission, heres a few of my faves.

Yes they were the same settings I used last week Rikki. They work well. Looks like you had the high ISO noise function enabled as well. Love your wedding pics. You would have been very busy
Yep I see you used Adobe Lightroom to clean a little noise. Certainly works well Rik.
There's a great two part article on Astrophotography in July "Australian Sky & Telescope". Part 1 can be obtained as a backcopy. You can piggyback your camera on a telescope. I'm going to try some star trails this week with the laptop attached to the camera programmed to automatically take exposures every 30 seconds or so while I watch TV
Fantastic wedding pics, they look so good you must be wrapped. It's so hard to please people when they're getting married. Nice job!!!!!!!
I tried my 1st milky way shot the other night, thanks again for the info. I need a 10mm lens BADLY and loads of practice. I'll pop it up soon. It turned out OK considering I'm in Melbourne but it was very noisy. I had to process it for hours
