Hmm looks interesting, but not expecting too much rain from this at all, next week looks a bit more exciting, models showing a sustained northerly flow with a little more warmth/mildness so may get more convection then.

2 mm here to 9am and I'd guess a couple more since.

Overcast but no rain here as yet. Only expecting 1 or 2 mm's.
Surprisingly last night was the coldest of the month here, got down to 3.4c and with this thick middle level cloud the temperature has been slow to rise, currently 10.52am still only 6.5c.

Hi everyone, long time lurker first time poster. I love chasing snowfalls, especially when it falls in places it usually doesn't so you might see some more snowy Tanjil Bren photos this winter :)

Next week is looking great for low level snow, this morning AXS-G, GFS and EC all have the 528 line over Vic on Thu night/Fri morn. The Dandenongs should get some proper snow if this comes off IMO.

Welcome! Hopefully the snow comes off as you say, has been a cracker of a winter really in terms of cold fronts, just haven't got the really really cold air as yet

Next week (Thurs night/Fri) is what we should really be discussing... Cold air from much further south than the last few that have come through.

Here's hoping it holds or goes even colder...

And there we go... forecast of 6-11 for Melbourne CBD next Friday. 10 for the suburbs.

Love it

Welcome Sererny!

This has to be the coldest winter in a long time. I can feel it in my bones, either that or old age creeping up on me.

It's turning out to be a wet dreary day in the end here. Just passed 5mm from increasing showery rain, and shrouded in fog from low cloud. Large blob on the radar should give us a few more mm's over the next hour.
Looking forward to the updated forecast to see if the chances of snow are still good for later in the week.

Looking progressively colder for Friday, and especially Friday night at this stage which could surprise in terms of low level snow. I think BoM are being a bit conservative with their temp forecast (understandably).
