Cold Nights, Sunny Days.

Post by Geoff »

Apologies to people in East Gippsland coastal areas who will have to endure a few more days of showers, but the rest of us have some cracking winter weather to enjoy for a spell. Let's see who can record the coldest nights! :D

today was lovely, calm and sunny at work, it was even clear up here when i got home. I am hoping for a frost tonight. I still have bad bugs active on azaleas etc, need some sub-zero temps to finish them off 8-)

It was 3C outside about an hour ago, very cold...

Temperature is slowly going down atm. Currently 2.6 degrees in Templestowe (Viewbank). My actual weather device has run out of battery power, so I can get a "real" reading of Templestowe lol. Frost was already building on cars around 10pm. Anyway It's a good night for now, need sleep lol.

Yes, a real good frosty morn in many parts! :D Only got down to 2.4c here, but we almost never get frost here, lower down and higher up do, but not here.
Going to be a stunner of a day! :D

Let the poor chook out and yes we have a frozen carport roof, and my weedy lawn was making crunchy noises in the open areas, we dont often get frosts here either.

Coldest June morning in Melb CBD (2.3c) since 2002 (which got down to 1.6c). June 22, 1995 was 1.4c.

It probably would've been sub-zero if the Urban Heat Island effect didn't exist.

So far this month most outer suburbs have had Min/Max temps just slightly above average for June, while the CBD has been 2c warmer than avg for Min, and 1c warmer for Max temp anomaly.

Temps are already plummeting and it's only 4pm. Looks like much of inland Vic will go below zero again...

what an absolutely sublime day.

It was precisely -3C down in macedon when i got to work this morning, that was 2C colder than up here at home. When i got home from work there was still ice on my little pond and lots of garden soil was still frozen and patches of frost in the sheltered areas. We hardly ever get a real frost up here but when we do it lasts very well.
It was 2.7C when i got home from work and the thermo says we had a max of 4C here today. It is freezing cold but lovely all the same. Looks like we might be in for another cold one, just hope the mountain top cloud stays away. It is 1.5C outside now 8-)
