Okay took me 2 hours to do this but this proofs that in general daytime temps this Summer have been below average everywhere including Melbourne and not be mislead by the BOM who says its been a warmer than normal in regard to Daytime temps Summer when it comes to Melbourne

Scoresby
Dec: Normal average 23.9c, Dec 2010: 23.9c (anomaly 0.0c)
Jan: Normal average 26.1c, Jan 2011: 26.1c (anomaly 0.0c)
Feb: Normal average 26.4c, Feb 2011: 24.7c (anomaly -1.7c)

Only town/city (apart from the Melbourne CBD heat island) thats had a slighty warmer than normal Summer in regards to daytime temps as December cancels itself out cos it has a 0c anomaly while January's anomaly is slightly bigger than Februarys therefore it has been ever so slightly warmer than normal in Bairnsdale interms of daytime temps this Summer.

Feb Normal average 30.9c, Feb 2011 28.2c (anomaly -2.7c)

Alot cooler than normal daytime temps this Summer in Wangaratta

To sum up I would like to say that I am aware that nightime temps this Summer across the state were above average but the daytime temps were below average more than BOM lead us to believe and telling us that "Melbourne" had warmer than normal daytime temps is very misleading and very misinformative. As you can see alot of the state and Melbourne area had below average daytime temps, it was also alot duller than normal with less sunshine that combined with high rainfall and lower temps during the day as made a few people complain about the cooler Summer as it has been nothing compare to recent Years.

How does the BoM then justify it's 'summer warmer than usual' routine? Seems that the corruption re: AGW starts right at the top with the BoM.

There are a lot of pretty poor statements leaving the BoM at the moment re: summer 2010/2011. They are very misleading statements and a couple of BoM people are going to be under the microscope pending a full audit. This summers reports will be crucial to the outcome later this year and could spell some major embaressment for the organisation.

Transperancy is coming people.

What the.........?

Do I smell a government and people who work at the BoM desperate to push their global warming agenda. There is no way that we had an above average summer in regards to temp. Maybe they mixed up their statements and meant to say that we had above average rain this summer. Oh that's right, they were predicting that we wouldn't get much rain at all and then we had all these massive rain events that they couldn't hide and they suddenly became part of the effects of global warming. Seriously, the more data supplied to support an argument the better as we have seen above. It would be interesting to see what the data shows if it was averaged out across the whole of the state, and then the whole of the country.

I was speaking to a few people at the kids school about the weather we have been having lately. These people do not know that I have an interest in the weather and they all commented on the fact that they do not trust the weather reports given by the media and that the do not trust the facts that are being spouted about global warming, the hotter that average summer etc. Many of them are starting to ask questions. Of course I mentioned this forum if they want more information.

My question is: How dumb do the government and the BoM think the general public are? There are definately people starting to ask a lot of questions. If it didn't directly impact on peoples lives it would almost be funny to see the BoM being proven so wrong.

Yep its not looking good is it. Never forget Dr.Stern statement back in December as we move into the 2nd part of Summer it will get drier um yeah right on Dr.Stern you couldn't of been further away from the the real world everyone else could see it would be a wet Summer but for some reason BOM didn't want to know about it even though at that point it was well clear that this was 1 of the strongest La Nina's on record and SOI was going through the roof breaking record after record on the way.

To add to it coolest start to Autumn for us since 1984

I just think the BOM should ditch the CBD weather station readings and look at a place like Essendon Airport or even Moorabbin to give a truer indication of what most of the city is experiencing. It is well known to everyone that the CBD AWS records temperatures around 1C too high averaged out over a month due to exposure issues. This 1C may not seem like much but it is the equivalent of around 150m of elevation.
