well radar is going dead for my area, however, there is a HUGE amount of evil looking cloud in my north, north west, and north east. Depending what temps and DP's do, still a small chance of activity. however, i will not be holding my breath.
There is a thunderstorm developing RIGHT OVERHEAD as I sit here! Saw it buidling at a rate of knots on the drive home, just pulled up down the front and caught some pics....never SEEN such a nasty storm come out of nowhere, thunder cracking yet sun still out - not even on the radar yet!!!!
Was watching the storm over the bay, two rain feet touching the water, the right side had a left hook and the left a right hook, forming a bowl in the middle. rain was dancing off the water forming a curtain in the bowl. Black all around with a sunlit bowl of white in the middle, loverly! About a dozen flangs almost vertical, hundreds of boats out there atm and more going out. So many snapper even novices are bagging out in an hour.
Yep just constant thunder rumbles, to my due east, don't think it's going to hit me still sunny! It looks to be literally only about 2 k's away tho....it will dump somewhere!
No rain in Maffra but an edge of a heavy shower trying to graze us, the odd rumble to our W and Tinamba getting another flogging to back up the 57mm they got yesterday!!!!
Just off the train at Ballarat (or is it SIngapore??) really humid and the roads are steaming in the sunshine after the earlier downpour.
Nice show between Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat, lots of sparks! No real photo ops though.
What's the opinion of the one near Sunbury developing?
I was on the edge of the one at the back of Mt D.... WOW amazing from under the side of it... I don't have camera at home so no images. Just webcam and that doesn't work well
That was insane! Had a quick warning from Karl and I didn't even have a chance to reply before that hit! Went from some brief rumbles of thunder, to heavy rain and lot's of hail up to 2cm in size. Hail has stopped now but quite heavy rain still.
What to check first when this stops- the rain gauge or how many dints are in the cars we can't put undercover?
Nothing here today and looking at the radar it does not seem we will get anything either. The W/E looks fairly quiet before it becomes more active from late Monday and Tuesday
