The storm's right over us now.....flangs RIGHT overhead but can hardly hear the thunder over the sound of the torrential rain!! Can feel the floor vibrating tho. Lightning flashes are bright white and highlighting amazing cloud structures :? overhead. This is an Amazing event... but there's going to be a HUGE cleanup tomorrow :

Dandeong Creek will be in major flood tomorrow I suspect.
The creek i talk about goes down to Birdlands Reserve on McNicol Rd. There are some houses down the end of my street that have the creek running under their driveways so i could only imagine what that will look like down there and if any of them are washed out.

just a sidenote- not that gfs has been great this system but puts the bullseye on eildon next 24 hrs. Wonder how the lake will fair after this & catchments in general, runoff should be ok despite 2-3 recent weeks of warmer weather.

Dav... fantastic storm charts, never seen em before. Please post them next time when applicable.

Steady heavy-dropped rain has resumed here but this time dead calm. OK NOW ITS TORRENTIAL.
.... then 2 mins later back to the steady Fat drops.

Cant see us getting through tonight with less than 20mm more from here (= 30mm for event if that happens). Fantastic for February.

Lake Glenmaggie is 87% full atm, heaps of campers/skiers here over Summer and now its a Monty that it will spill again (Licola had 20+mm last night before 9am and this rain). The drought is indeed broken, and now we can also include parched old Gippy!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Ryan, I would be posting on Twitter, except I currently don't have the details to gain access with the AWF. I will shortly though. Good idea mate. I will be posting them both here and on twitter.

Imagine how much of shock this would have come to many Melburnians! I'm sure that yesterday the Bureau had either 1-5mm or 5-10mm for today.
