a turkey formed right over me, watching it shoot up like that was amazing, if I had time lapse it wouldn't have had to slow it down much, it was boiling upwards at an amazing rate. Just cracked 30c here. Even though the RH and DP's are slowly dropping it's still going to go beserk somewhere over Greater Melbourne today.

It is a supercell thunderstorm capable of producing very large hail , damaging winds and capable of producing tornadoes. Take Cover now and prepare for this thunderstorm now!
Looks like that Archerton Cell has some good rotation captured in 3 frams from the doppler.
Any reports or anyone close by who can confirm this?
I went on a mini-chase at lunchtime and ended up in Berwick. Found a nice spot to watch the cells that were in a line out East develop and feed off each other. I saw 3 lowerings but could not tell if there was any significant rotation, including a lovely big column that was slowly corkscrewing itself into one of the cells. Lots of lightning too - about every 15 seconds whilst listening to the Aussie batting line-up fail again
That is one massive storm west of Yarram!!! Large hail in that one for sure.
Had a MASSIVE thunderstorm pass through this region. Went outside to check out two cells to the west of me at about 2.45 pm, lots of lightning and thunder. Infact thunder was continous, still is!! Had very sexy looking wall cloud and very low lowerings. No funnels from what I could have seen, but it had a huge radius, and once it come over, the wind just roared. The hail though, 2-2 1/2 cm big!! Its the first time I have ever seen hail in a thunderstorm and then we had about 10mm of rain in 10 mins. Flash flooding here!! HUGE!!!
