DP has dropped like a rock here. Currently bouncing around -10C. If the cloud clears going to be some seriously cold mins in sheltered spots. The precipitable values are currently near 5mm.

Hard to believe the “Pineapple Express” That looks like arriving for Saturday with a surge of Indian Ocean moisture (new thread time?).

Even on our hilltop it's already down to 3C.

And yes, new thread needed for what looks like a good finish to June.

Balmy 8C up here tucked above the inversion. We didn’t drop below 7C, so last night was warmer than most days last week

Local meso station network shows all sites on hills around 8C currently, while those on the flats are near 0C. Going to be an interesting drive down the hill.

EDIT> Went out in the garden with the torch. White frost across parts of the garden, while other parts are balmy (even in a t-shirt). The distance between frost and my weather station with a temperature of 7C was no more than 2 or 3m. Guess that's what can happen with a crazy dry airmass, a strong inversion, a high parked overhead and one of the longest nights of the year.

It is 3C here temp went up up a bit from about 8pm when it got down to 1.5C.
We still have a full white frost on the ground from the night before. I dont under stand how that can happen but it does. We musr have really cold soil temp or something.
Its currently -3.6 over in Trentham, almost 7C colder than here.

Clearly been a frosty couple of days Macedonian. Suspect that the ground temp has kept low, especially with the sun being weak this time of year. Down to 3.5c here overnight, so not nearly as cold as it was at lower altitudes. Currently 7.7c and sunny.

It dropped to zero out here, making it the coldest morning so far.
There was plenty of frost around for the early 5.30am walk with the dog. Ice everywhere from parked cars to footpaths.

11.3C here today, so run of cold days has come to an end. DP currently 5C here so not expecting a particularly cold night.

Btw completely unrelated to Vic but people seen the forecasts for Europe this week. 850Ts above 30C in the south of France.

Back to Vic, bit of a downgrade for the weekends system. Looks good north of the divide, but in the south looks very rainshadowed on the latest runs.

What a turn around from lasts weeks winter..

Last few days have been warm for late June. But overnight forecast models have amped up rain totals for Saturday. Could be more like 30-40mm here which would be brilliant.

Looks like it'll be a while until decent snow falls in the Alps though. Needs another Sudden Stratospheric Warming Event over Antarctica to bring the AAO into the negatives...
