Major convection to the East. Standing in Collingwood and it is bubbling over the Dandenongs.

Seabreeze pushing inland a little over the southern part of the bay and in Gippsland. No chance of storms out there today according to the BoM and it is the first place to fire.

I would like to see DP's stay around the 13-14 mark to give it all a better opportunity. The development out to the East is a little earlier than yesterday but not as well structured I have noticed.

Trough out there Roger has dissipated and the storms and showers are relying on convergence from the SB moving inland against the NE winds and topography. Should simmer down this afternoon and C areas take over as the focus.

Already some signs here with cu building nicely.

Some massive towers exploding to my east atm... seems to be heading towards the west/southwest. A couple of showers on radar now in the Bunyip/Noojee/Warburton area, hopefully some thunderstorms to follow soon :)

Got great view of all the convection going up in the east. There are 5 or 6 distinct areas of updraft and as I type the Pileous cloud forming at the top of it is insane. I am taking lots of photos - will try and upload later. Here's one for you Deno "OMG, OMG" :o

Those storm cells are just a few km's to my east and they are HUGE! Not to mention dark, angry, and boiling, quite a fair bit of thunder, and even a few lowerings visible! :)

Heard a couple of distant rumbles here, very dark toward Dandenong/Cranbourne way. Can't say I've seen weather travelling from the N/E too often - quite a suprise!

I was gonna go up to my local footy oval for more pics (a few too many trees are spoiling my view here at home)... but those cells are a bit too close for comfort, I don't want to risk being struck by lightning just for the sake of pics :( I'll just make do with what I've got and play it safe :)

Hopefully the activity increases throughout the afternoon and into the evening, really enjoying the performance so far :)

Edit... updated STW from the weather bureau, now including the Southwest:
