Not to impressed by this first line, structure wise from my view it is a mess and radar suggests it's not very organized either. Would be good if it was darker with all the lightning, hoping things build later on in the night

Check out the inflow to the east on the doppler, never seen that before! Black here, few spots, few rumbles.

Its still hot here in Echuca, no wind though, was gusty earlier this afternoon. Starting to get very dark out in the West, roll on the cool change and a storm or two :)

Hey mick. Having a look at the doppler, that inflow you mentioned I think is a radar artefact. You can see it's directly behind the city. My guess would be random Reflections off Buildings in the city!

just watched a tiny roll cloud grow into a rotating meso, it's howling here now but that not something you see everyday. It was awesome to just watch it grow like that, BTW, it's heading towards Rowville! good luck, it's nothing to intense as yet but it's sucking in scud like nothing else. No greenage either. We just had the wind come at us from all directions as it went over too. Cool!!!

The thunder and lightning is picking up now

Plenty of rumbles around here, but just 3mm's of rain so far.

Keep them coming.

Some awesome lightning and thunder here for the last hour or so! MANY CG's around and the structure (from this angle) of the inital line was really nice - a nice touch of green in the front. I have taken some pics so I will try to sort through them and post the best in the Storm Chasing forum later. :D

Really a fun hour for us here :D

Cheers, Cam

Bit of a line just formed to my west near Warrnambool, I can hear distant thunder, and that bigger line in the Bass Strait will move over here later tonight. Going to be interesting. I'm actually going out in about 30 minutes, so hopefully want miss it as it moves northeast, and I'm going northeast a bit.

Mate that it exactly what I'm talking about. It's from the EXACT same persecutive too, we must live very close to each other. Did you get to watch it go from a small cigar roll cloud and flatten out to that and take off. It was so cool. You just don't get to see things like that in VIC very often.

Severe storms are not what they used to be. This might be the 5 th thunder day but it has been very small in comparison to other years with 5 in a month. It was and epic failure in Greensborough Eltham and Doncaster East. A couple of quality flashes & that was that. It was over in 10 minutes. It is clearing off and the sun is out now.

Tiz & Aus - that was right overhead at our place :D Had a limited view out the window (feral hour here, couldn't get outside) but managed to lean against the window and look straight up as it swirled around overhead, just one big swirling mass :) Not much else to report here, had a short period of moderate rainfall with a few rumbles and flashes, but mostly just some sporadic light rain, just 1.8mm so far, light rain just started up again. Temp has dropped considerably, much more comfortable now.

Dunno if I've ever seen anything like that, top half of the line just died as soon as it moved in to the northern country. Complete waste of time going for a drive.
