AWF SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ADVICE Please use official warnings from the Bureau of Meteorology for professional services.
General thunderstorm activity is still persisting over parts of the EASTERN SUBURBS of MELBOURNE currently, with flash flooding remaining possible with those thunderstorms. Further thunderstorms are developing to the Melbourne CBD's northwest, which are currently moving towards the southeast. A thunderstorm cell near MERIDITH is showing severe signatures, and could produce damaging winds and flash flooding. The situation is being monitored closely, however ALL AREAS OF MELBOURNE INCLUDING GEELONG should be on standby for further severe thunderstorms.

Might have to ring Dad. He lives right around the corner.
Glad to hear you are ok
Did anyone experience hail of any reportable amount/wind gusts?..
'Twas a pretty impressive storm from my perspective at Sky High on Mt Dandy, but my view was eventually blocked around 7pm.
Hey Guys,
was at Chaddy when the rain hit. As always it was flooding there, decided to make a break for it (probably not a great idea) The Monash had a top speed of about 50km/h and multiple spots of water very high on the car...thought we were gunna get stuck at one point. No hail to report, but was the occasional isolated strong gust. Lots of localized flooding in my area (thankfully not at my place)

forgot to mention, my mother lives down at sovereign crest. she called to say the front of her house is quite badly flooded at the moment.
And meanwhile... here in the Northern Suburbs of Roxburgh Park we have had.... wait for it.... a total of .... 2.6mm all day long. It is frustrating seeing that radar, and being amongst any gaps in it. Trying to be patient. It can't keep doing this surely... it is coming...

URGENT MESSAGE. Areas to the SOUTHEAST OF MEREDITH are advised of a severe thunderstorm that has been identified on weather radar, and has a very high risk of producing large hail. This thunderstorm is also likely to produce damaging winds and flash flooding.

Absolutely torrential rain here for the last 30 minutes or so, but no wind to speak of or hail. We're on a hill top so no floodiing issues, however there will be flash flooding in the nearby valleys from this. From a safety viewpoint, the Western Freeway near Gordon will be getting a caning.
Thought we'd missed the storms - only 1 mm since 9 am until this monster hit.

Have mostly escaped here with 15mm in the gauge (12.5 from the last lot), more on the way though I'm sure.
The storm that was headed for Viewbank/Caulfield mentioned earlier seemed to decay somewhat or skirted south of here, didn't get much from it in the end.
Amazing reports of flooding in CBD and the S/SE suburbs though.
Hope everything is ok Lily and stay safe, SES 132500 number (ESTA) is swamped and we are having trouble getting through to the call centre too
