Nice and dark over frankston & south atm, all pretty high compared to last few days.
We need it Mick, its done nothing to reverse the damage of the last 13 years.
Except 137 districts Australia wide being a disaster area. Apart from that its done bugger all.

That cell heading towards Warragul literally formed overhead of me here, but didn't start dumping until, ohhhhhh, about 20 metres past my house
Looks like we'll get a bit of what's approaching from over the bay instead - COME TO MUMMA!

Right on cue, in come the showers and storms. GFS has picked it to perfection. Unsure why BOM were never on to it insisting the showers today would only be 'light'.

We might have to extend this thread....up until May 15th or thereabouts.
Noticed last night the little parcel of cold air moving in through the mid layers..its now doing its thing.
Looks fairly heavy, quick short bursts.
Edit: Particularly this year Andrew, we can all see how its turning out.

Very nice chunky shower passing accross here atm. Had a more serious downburst in Sth Melb at 5.30... Surprised by the look of the Melbourne radar.
May have a repeat of last night's dusk glow.

Sun shining brightly, rain belting down another 5 mm in 10 min, lovely to be living in Cairns.

Thunder heard here @ Balwyn about 20 mins ago.
No looking at the back end, some nice rotation and lowerings.
Concur with the kudos to GFS on picking this...

Today is a bit of a change from the last 14 days or whatever the hell it was (I'm losing count here), in that it is 'hybrid' warm air/cold air convection, a clear indicator that colder air is moving in.
