22C here at 520m asl.

8.9mm today. That's 81.2mm now for the month (and this system in the broad sense).

That line of storms doesn't look all that promising come to think of it. The last radar frame shows it weakening a bit if anything.

Models not indicating much rain tonight or tomorrow, all the action is set for Thursday night and Friday morning.

Some massive cells out West! Just went up to Mt Riddley with my father to take some photos and there were some incredible storms.

There's one HP cell that's dropping heaps of rain to the East and produced a massive wall cloud about an hour a go. :o

Also, the line everyone is talking about out West is looking incredible! There's an small anvil furthest to the south in the line and a massive anvil further up in the line! It looks incredible!!
The structure reminds me a bit of the November 26 Supercell that wen't right over our head here. Dropped heaps of rain. :o

Hoping to get hit by one of them,

Cheers, Cam :D

EDIT: Did anyone else see the anvils?

Um...Not sure, I don't have an account with the photo hosting websites (photobucket etc.). I might try and see if I can put them on a website of mine that was primarily focused on fishing. Might have to make it fishing and weather lol.

They didn't really turn out that good, but I'll see what I can do. It would be nice if we could just upload the photos from our computer but I understand why we can't. :)

Cheers, Cam :D

I got 27 with 69%, I swap ya!

So muggy again, becomming a bit of a habit. I guess you have to be born into humidity to love it. This is similar to feb 2001 or was it 2002 IMO. Its pretty wet but not much ground water herre, nice rain foot over dandenong way an hour or so ago,

No thanks, I'll keep my lot.

But still, I'm dreading tomorrow, high winds and heavy rain = disaster

Well, looks like I may have spoken too soon. The line is now intensifying right on my doorstep.

Well no-one is taking mine. Temp at 28 and DP of 22 and RH 66%. LOVE IT!! :D

Line west of Melbourne has split a little, but should still make it through and possibly intensify.

Perhaps the muggiest day in Maffra in my life today. After a couple of drizzly showers overnight/early morning, scattered showers today accumulated 9mm since last night so an event total of 17.25mm.

Currently 25C with 89% RH - thats a 24C dewpoint by the Psych chart which is very improbable for our location in Australia. BUT - I drove home from the LV with the aircon on needing to use the wipers to scrape away condensation off the outside of the windscreen at 100K/Hr! Then when I got out of the car at home my glasses immediately fogged totally. This is what I experienced in Mackay during mid Jan/Feb mornings!!!!!

Clouds are inching in from the N, baro fairly steady at 1007 hPa and hoping for a shower or two tonight but I guess would have to be lucky in the lee of the ranges in this present setup. Another night ahead under ceiling fan and appreciating a cold beer atm! :D :D

My previously stated hope that we can accumulate 35mm looks to be ontrack still when the band gets pushed across us on Friday, so very happy.

We have Lake Glenmaggie at 91.5% full, the holiday makers would prefer it to be in the lower 80's (far more sandy beach areas) - and now it will near-fill again by the weekend after. Too much of a good thing but none of them would swap the conditions to the miniscule puddle and dust squalls that the die-hard continued to brave out for their annual holidays over the past 15 years!!

La Nino, gotta love it down here (the poor Queenslanders are paying for our fortune instead though...).

Has anyone noticed the cell near Werribee seems to be punching a hole into the winds going away from the radar on the doppler? Does this mean it has rotating winds?

You can basically see it's path on the doppler.

Cheers, Cam :D

STW can't be far away...unless it is covered by SWW but I think this has potential to be big. Ominous set up and the path has a history.

It's just gone dark here, to the point I had to put the lights on. A big fat Cu is passing over and must be about to drop it's load. It's not showing up on radar yet!!!
