5 mile creek in Woodend had just gone over it's banks out near the freeway around 6.30pm tonight and was not far off doing the same in town...Clyve encountered water across Boundary Road NE of Woodend about the same time....
Trentham has had another 7.8mm since midnight.....Jane

well, Ryan and I sat on a hill(one of my local lookouts) this arvo. the hill is on a local rd east of the town. As reported earlier, we spotted a corkscrewing updraught (something fairly common in storms here-due to Tallarrook ranges). The guster blew up from nothing special - right before our eyes! I also shot some pics at Eppalock spillway and on the way home - before I met up with Ryan.
A link to some of my pics is below:
How does the local council allow developers to make subdivisions without drainage (see above)... cool calm and hoping a shower can survive the trip "over the top" and allow the rain up near Dargo make it here before my book whacks me on the head in an hour or so's time.
A couple of quick pics, then tea, then off to get some lightning hopefully.
The first couple are the cell I intercepted around Colbinabbin as it dropped a wall cloud around 12:30pm. This is the same cell that started in NSW. A very powerfull cell that I got the end of its cycle....
.
This died soon after, and then went on to be the first line that Melbourne copped.
This next set i watched build from over 200km away and never managed to catch up to. But this cell was rotating. I have boosted the contrast a fair bit to try and show the striations in 3 layers... was amazing to see first hand.. pictures dont really do it any justice.
.
More to come later....

This is a 12 image stitch of the line that hit Bendigo around 4:30pm. I was sitting to the east of it as it slid around me. Im currently viewing this from the West of Colbinabbin. I must say Kudos to CS5. The stitching software is amazing!!!
And a closer look at the main core.

GREAT pics by all another big day in Vic and some crazy reports re rain fall
First time in a week we didn't get rain and EVERYONE was out mowing lawns and getting out in the sun.
Had some nice avro convection in all directions but nothing here today which allows us to dry out.
32mm so far this week and looks like will be dry next 2-3 days which is great news for many up here Though Mon-Wed looking very wet.
Driving to Melbourne tomorrow very much looking forward to some storm action on drive down though dont think will be as good and strong as today as trough weaker as to is cold pool
Seabreeze all but washed out now, with all metro AWS under E/ENE/NE conditions, so the risk of shower/rain/odd rumble overnight is there.
Edit: Another 1.6mm from the decaying cell around 8pm lift me to 22.6mm for the day and 31.6mm for the "event".
Hmm, looking at the charts, when will this event end??
That's the one I chased Rikki, no question.
Saw it first at Kilmore, then got north of Seymour and watched it die. But thankfully, as Brad predicted, more came, and boy did it come...!
WOW and DROOOL @ all the pics. This forum really is the next best thing to being in all places at one time
What an amazing couple of days. Managed to be underneath two torrential downpours and got some good heavy rain in between. The best part is we now have a solar heated paddling pool where the backyard used to be. My 4 year old daughter thinks Christmas has come early
What's more, the Gardiner's creek trail has magically turned into the Daintree complete with bustling birdlife, a raging river and thousands of frogs doing what frogs do when there's loads of water around. Perfect
Had 7.5mm rain here this morning and 11mm this afternoon in the thunderstorm event. Hail guns were going crazy up here, perhaps that is what was heard earlier by someone else who posted about 7 pages ago! (sorry not going to hunt through all the posts again!) Not much happening here tonight. Have had 0.5mm in drizzle bringing my total from yesterday and today to 32mm
Lol, look at everyone reading down the bottom, all trying to catch up! Just wanted to add my thanks to everyone for posting their pics & reports today, as previous posters have said, it really does give us all a great view of what's occurred in a vast area of the state as it happened. Also, Wolf, a belated congrats on getting your photo on ABC, sorry, was many pages ago and meant to say something earlier but the action and the posts have been thick and fast today!
