Minor Flood Warning for the Murray River at Corowa
Issued at 9:42 am EDT on Wednesday 3 November 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office


The Murray River peak is approaching Corowa where it is expected to arrive late
Thursday, causing some minor rural flooding. Downstream of Corowa, the peaks
will be below minor flood level.

Predicted River Heights/Flows:

Corowa - peak near 5.1 metres late Thursday [4/11/10] with minor rural flooding.


Minor Flood Warning for the Ovens River
Final Flood Warning for the King River
Issued at 9:45 am EDT on Wednesday 3 November 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

In the 24 hours to 9 AM Wednesday no significant rainfall has been recorded in
the Ovens and King River catchments. Rainfall totals of less than 5 mm have
been forecast for the rest of Wednesday.

As a result of weekend rainfall stream rises and areas of Minor to Moderate
flooding have occurred throughout the Ovens and King catchments. Upstream
levels are now receding with high stream levels expected to continue in the
lower catchment for the next several days. The King River at Docker Road peaked
Monday afternoon around the Moderate Flood Level and is now below the Minor
Flood Level. Wangaratta is currently peaking at around the Minor Flood Level.

Ovens River upstream of Bright
The Ovens River at Bright peaked at 2.68 metres around midday Sunday (Minor
Flood Level 3.0 metres) and is continuing to fall.

Buckland River
The Buckland River at Harris Lane peaked below the Minor Flood Level Sunday
morning and is continuing to fall.

Myrtleford
The Ovens River at Eurobin peaked at 4.16 metres early Monday morning (Minor
Flood Level 4.5 metres) The river will remain below the Minor Flood Level.

Buffalo River
The Buffalo River downstream of Lake Buffalo peaked at 2.88 metres late Sunday.
The river is falling and will remain below the Minor Flood Level (3.0 metres).

Rocky Point
The Ovens River at Rocky Point peaked at 2.99 metres early Monday morning. The
river will remain below the Minor Flood Level (3.2 metres).

Upper King River
The King River at Cheshunt peaked at 1.75 metres (Minor Flood Level 1.8 metres)
Sunday afternoon and is continuing to fall.

Docker Road
The King River at Docker Road peaked at 3.96 metres early afternoon Monday
(Moderate Flood Level 3.95 metres). The river is currently below the Minor
Flood Level (3.6 metres) and falling.

Wangaratta
The Ovens River at Wangaratta is currently peaking at 11.86 metres (Minor Flood
Level 11.9 metres). No further stream rises are expected.



Moderate Flood Warning for the Yarra River
Issued at 11:00 am EDT on Wednesday 3 November 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office in consultation with
Melbourne Water

The Yarra River catchment has received rainfall averaging about 5 mm in
the Upper Yarra region and 3 mm in the Lower Yarra Region since 09:00am
yesterday.

At Coldstream (Yarra Grange) the water level in the Yarra River is still
exceeding the minor flood level of 4.0m, and falling.

At Yarra Glen the water level in the Yarra River is still exceeding the
moderate flood level of 4.5m, and steady.

Minor flooding at Coldstream is causing inundation in low-lying areas
adjacent to the river. The water level in the Yarra River at Coldstream
is expected to fall below the minor flood level this afternoon.

Moderate flooding is causing extensive inundation in the rural area of
Yarra Glen. The period of inundation at Yarra Glen is expected to continue
through to Friday.


Minor Flood Warning for the Kiewa River
Issued at 11:25 am EDT on Wednesday 3 November 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office

In the 24 hours to 9am Wednesday no significant rainfall has been recorded in
the Kiewa River catchment. No significant rainfall has been forecast for the
remainder of Wednesday into Thursday.

AGL Hydro advise that releases from storages into the Kiewa River are currently
between 100-110 ML/hour and are expected to remain in that range for the
remainder of Wednesday into Thursday.

Mongans Bridge
The Kiewa River at Mongans Bridge is currently below the Minor Flood level (2.4
metres). The river will remain below the Minor Flood Level.

The Kiewa River at Kiewa Main Channel is currently steady at 3.28 metres (Minor
Flood Level 3.3 metres). The river is expected to remain around the Minor Flood
Level for the remainder of Wednesday into Thursday.

Bandiana
The Kiewa River at Bandiana is currently steady at 2.84 metres (Minor Flood
Level 2.7 metres). The river is expected to remain above the Minor Flood Level
for several days.


Minor Flood Warning for the Goulburn River.
Issued at 1:08 pm EDT on Wednesday 3 November 2010
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Victorian Regional Office


Since 9 AM Wednesday no significant rainfall has been recorded in the Goulburn
River catchment. No significant rainfall has been forecast for the remainder of
Wednesday.

Weekend rainfall caused stream rises and some minor flooding in the upper
reaches of the Goulburn River and tributaries. Upstream river levels are now
receding, however further rises are expected downstream of Murchison, with the
possibility of minor flooding around Arcadia Downs later in the week.

Goulburn tributaries below Eildon and Seymour
The Acheron River at Taggerty is below the Minor Flood Level (2.0 metres) and
falling.

The Yea River at Devlins Bridge is below the minor flood level (1.8 metres) and
falling.

The Yea River at Yea is below the Minor Flood Level (3.0 metres) and falling.
The river is expected to remain below the minor flood level.

Goulburn River Lake Eildon to Seymour
The Goulburn River at Trawool peaked at 3.67 metres at 2.30 AM Tuesday (Minor
Flood Level 4.0 metres). The river is currently below the Minor Flood Level and
falling.

Seymour
The Goulburn River at Seymour peaked at 3.62 metres at 5.45 AM Tuesday. (Minor
Flood Level 4.0 metres). The river is currently below the Minor Flood Level and
falling.

Hughes Creek
Hughes Creek at Tarcombe Road is below the Minor Flood Level (2.0 metres) and
falling.

Murchison
The Goulburn River at Murchison is currently at 6.57 metres and rising. The
river is expected to peak below the Minor Flood Level (9.0 metres), during
Wednesday.

Seven Creeks at Kialla West
The Seven Creeks at Kialla West peaked on Tuesday below the Minor Flood Level
(4.5 metres) and is falling.

Broken River at Orrvale
The Broken River at Orrvale peaked below the Minor Flood Level (6.8 metres) on
Tuesday at 10:30 PM, and is now falling.

Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs

The Goulburn River at Arcadia Downs is currently at 7.85 metres and rising.
Further rises are expected for several days with the possibility of the river
reaching the Minor Flood Level (9.0 metres) overnight Friday into Saturday.

Shepparton
The Goulburn River at Shepparton is expected to peak below the Minor Flood
Level (9.5 metres) during the weekend.

McCoys Bridge
The Goulburn River at McCoys Bridge is expected to peak below the Minor Flood
Level (9.0 metres) during the weekend.
