the radar is lightning up looks great :D the clouds are devloping rapidly here atm i would expect some action at some stage today :D

Raining heavily at the moment in Tarneit.....heard a rumble (havent seen lightining though but we are indoors!) Everything looks amazing east of here though

Just been up to Kangaroo ground to grab some pics - boy is it windy up there ! Back home now and its blowing hard and gone dark - static on radio :-) But I think it may only brush us here ...

Argh that stream broke up, looks like it'll be good but not as good as it was looking 20mins ago. It's been windy as hell here all day. It's just gone dead calm

Looks like the first of the main systems will miss me by about 15-20 KM, bit of a shame, but northern and central suburbs looks to be getting good bath today. This afternoon should be a cracker, with the radar showing the rain is going to continue for atleast a while.

The airport is right in the firing line, cell appears to be right over the top. Easing off somewhat here.

It's bucketing down, nice tropical style rain and it just stopped.

Camberwell East remains both dry and a storm-free zone. I wonder for how much longer? :(

Nice lightning but just a few drops where i am atm. Im in Mernda and can see it coming. Might just chill here for a while. I think this area might cop a good drop and lightshow.

Wow, it's really let loose now. There's going to be flash flooding for sure and it's hailing too!!!!!!!!!

Lightning observed to my North and south west here. clouds are moving very fast. band is breaking up but im still hoping for some action.
Has anyone reported hail to the northwest burbs???

Observing some very nice CG's - one very distant rumble but all the dogs are going crackers in the neighborhood :D

rain has stopped again, streets are moderately flooded, nice lightning too. It's dead calm again. I think I'm right on the edge of it. Seems to have slid just south of me for now.

For people in the Northern Country, North Central, East Gippsland, Central and parts of the Mallee, Northeast, Wimmera, West and South Gippsland, Western and Alpine Forecast Districts.
Issued at 1:14 pm Wednesday, 6 October 2010.
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, very heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Bendigo, Seymour, Maryborough, Melbourne, Ballarat, Geelong and Bairnsdale.
