Finished the month here with 128mm. We've had 229mm since the start of May, although we're still about 30mm behind on the YTD average. 7c, sunny and calm here today, a complete reversal to yesterday's weather!

Update on damage at Axe Creek. Sounds like it was a tornado with a witness describing a funnel touching down before it flattened a brick veneer house to its foundations:

Incredible video footage of tornado taken by owner of the home that was destroyed by the Axe Creek tornado. He's one lucky man to be alive:

Amazing SB!

Just back home from a wet & windy west coast. We managed a mere 37.5mm here at Gordon to 9am, bringing us to 132.5mm for June (22yr average 80.9mm) and our second wettest June (behind 138mm in 2012). A site 10km NW had 64mm! We are now 395.5mm ytd, comfortably ahead of our half year average of 364.3mm.

Run-off is now reflecting this extraordinary rain, with moderate flooding on the nearby Werribee River.

My final and most obscure stat is we've had 333.5mm for May/June - another location record.

Well you guys up north and west of Melb certainly needed it. The land was so parched and dessicated when I was in that area in early May. Thank goodness the rains came at last.

8C for our max yesterday in FC so back to more normal winter temps. Still one more sneaky front this week on Tuesday which will pack a few mm in parts of the south. Currently at Walkerville where it’s been blowing a gale. Westerly winds being squeeze on the south side of the high.

Not much proper wintery weather now until late next weekend.

Quite mild air mass again with this system. 850Ts are around 3C which is mild given the pressure is so high.

Windy down here in South Gippsland. Big waves on the coast. Climbed Mt Oberon yesterday and could barely stand up. Must have been gusting over 100km/hr :?

Front whipping through today. Not a lot in it, but might squeeze a mm or two. Looks unstable later in the weekend with a lingering trough and coolish uppers.

Max of 10C in FC with 1mm. Just less than a mm in Walkerville.

Wind has finally dropped here after a couple of days of gales. Big waves on the coast and quite a storm surge. On the high tide today the water was almost onto the Bass Highway near Tarwin, perhaps 5cm below the road level :?

It looks like the drizzle has settled in for the day. Looking to clear tonight and provide perfect conditions for thick fog

4mm in Walkerville last 24 hours and 1.4mm in FC. Had hill fog down here this morning down to 100m or so quite a moist airmass which will set up tomorrow for another decent fog.

Slow start to July. Few mild ones coming up before an unsettled Sunday and Monday. Looks likely. Proper wintery blast next week, which will be welcome.
