Just had a boom of thunder here at work and the heavens have opened. :D

Just some light rain here in past 30 minutes - radar is optimistic. EC is not optimistic (6mm), BOM WATL somewhat better (12mm), GFS not bad (15mm or so).

End of the month looking almost biblical if EC is to be believed, ACCESS-G is like "meh" (perhaps OK along the coast though).

Radar looks impressive. First flash of lightning and roll of thunder at work in the CBD.

Taking a break from working in the garden, may I not have much more time left to work there, a couple of distant rumbles. Even though I have been watering by hand soil is still dry, hopefully not for long. Radar does indeed look good. :bringiton:

20.6mm at Mildura, slightly more than Nhill's 17mm. Well done to them

Me reckons it will just be a typical, rainy day until early afternoon. When was the last time we had rain with embedded storms. Pft. Then it will clear and be probably be partly cloudy and partly sunny

The forecast of afternoon storms probably won't eventuate either for the metro area.

My bet is on 9mm in the city and 13mm in the east.

What happened to the rain? It looked so promising an hour ago on radar when it coming in from the west.
It looks like it's done a 90 degree turn and no going north to south.

grrr

Yes I noticed that, very odd. Going to have to be patient with this whole system I think, looks like it's going to do strange things.
First band of storms did its best to avoid us here, barely enough to wet the ground so far. :(

Looks like we've missed out yet again - story of the summer. The rainband is too far West and slipping away. Bendigo AWS hasn't even registered anything...

Eternal optimist here I think the radar looks just fine

Get ready for potential ripper storms this arvo, could be hit or miss, but if you get lucky could get a nice drop

Well done to Jane Bunn last night on ch7 who said the west and the North-East will do best today.

What's the go ?
Looks very average but there is a clear slot behind the main rain band
for some potential storm action hopefully
I think that's our best chance for some significant falls
