Yes, I am looking at that Melton cell now (although at this stage it is north of Melton for the most part) It will probably stay just to the west of me but at least it is something

Hello again everyone. Time for my montly post. System is starting to look quite nice, very slow moving, which is a great sign. Dopplar is indeed showing some very interesting signitures out there, and while i think the boms warning areas is spot on, those on the bay should at the very least get a good show off in the distance.
I my self will be in st kilda at the espy seeing a few local bands this arvo, but might have to take some time out to look across the bay.

Definately western areas are the focus this afternoon, but could be a good long chase if it holds momentum.

Well, all the focus is west of here but most of the fresh convection I am seeing atm is to the south and east with pretty much nothing happening to the W/N/NW (aside from the bases of the storms that are already there) although it is obscured a fair bit by low cloud. Getting a bit more sun anyway so temps are warming up.

I'm up at Mt Dandenong currently viewing line. Exploding with severe updrafts on the northern aspect of the Melton complex. Huge CB developing in clear air towards the NW of here.

I expect all of Melbourne to cop this line this afternoon.

N winds have mixed down here. First gusts at 15kt achieved. Back down the it is still S'ly.

Brilliant radar, eh? Can see the cells extremely clearly from Canterbury, absolutely awesome. Looks like they'll make it to the inner eastern suburbs too, which is a very, very beautiful thing.

Wow...hope i'm not too east to miss out on that nice cell with the solid black core. Although it looks like it's building to the north.

The radar looks very foreboding, be careful everyone chasing. Those cells keep forming hooks. Still waiting for the seabreeze to die off here.

To all in Melbourne Area..... Dangerous Storm warning is warranted on my part. The Bow Echo has continued to develop...the hook is a book end vortice, meaning a supercellular circulation is located in this area. Potential for severe weather includes certain dangerous convective winds (120km/hr +), Large Hail and potential for tornadoes Is VERY high. This is a very dangerous storm and I wouldnt be driving through it unless you have really good insurance...and dont mind the risk.

To all chasers who can read this...squall type systems dominating the SW, starting as Bow Echoes from original supercells, I recommend repositioning NW/N Bendigo. There are surface NEs and strong potential for supercell storms, and will likely mean you avoid the nastiness of the bow-echoes.

Brad and I are Loddon-Valley highway, having 2 supercells in the bag so far.

Coldstream is going to cop it big time later. 28/17 that represents around LI -7 in current conditions.
