I was on the train yesterday coming back from Melbourne. The area between Woodend and Kyneton is becoming an inland lake....
So far nearly 8mm since 9am this morning. Still raining.

5.5mm up to 9 this morning,and then another 5 up to 12.
On a side note I see that the official rain for Castlemaine,
sunday night monday morning is 59mm.
I had 29 others have said from 27 in north Castlemaine
and 32 to 34 locally in Campbells creek. The Gauge is less than 5 kms from all these places,
located at the new jail in Wesley hill. Must have got under a local storm.
On another side note I see that bom 10 day is trying to put another
low over us next Monday, and is developing it more each run.

Some nice icy tops on those showers crossing the bay, Mick could be seeing some hail this afternoon!
Main rainband just clearing here now, everything outside is just a bog.
Here's a capture of the radar at 11.18am which would indicate the city must have recorded something surely.

That;s what I would have thought Geoff. Can definitely see icy tops to the west/south-west from here in Docklands.
Davis weather station reckons 13mm from that blob this morning.
Radar looks nice for another round. Will keep an eye on my cameras through my smartphone for sure.
Gotta love technology these days! haha

Wife reports hail at home and pouring heavier than before too.
Well past the half way mark for October rainfall now. Only 3 and a half days in.

Worst wind of the whole event here right now; we'll be lucky not to loose a few trees & see some structural damage locally
.

Haven't had anything too exciting here other than this damn wind, however that is about to change.
edit: and here comes the hail.

OMG. Never witnessed anything like that in my life. 100km/h winds and hailing horizontally.
And the best thing? Caught it all on video. Will upload to youtube and let everyone know when it's there.

OK... Link is VIDEO
Let me know if it doesn't work.
Please acknowledge that the footage might be blurry at times, but remember I was trying to stand upright in that wind. The best footage is towards the end where you can see the hail (or graupel) rolling along the road.
