Had a huge gust up here at the same time Mick, it blew my step ladder over, thankfully I wasn't up it at the time. :o
20mm here in the early hours, really torrential and woke me up a couple of times. Nothing since except one brief shower.

Pouring here now, big shower suddenly fired up out of nowhere. Colder air today is helping the bay effect produce for the eastern suburbs.

Cold blustery day here. About 3mm so far. Showers are a bit moisture starved with quite cold dry air over us.

Snowing quite a bit in the alps above 1500m. Decent falls building at the resorts (which are now closed  ).

Last proper front in the sequence tomorrow, then weather patterns become more summer like few a few days with warming uppers. GFS particularly bullish on warmth on the weekend.

Another 4mm here since this morning, total up to 34mm for part 2. 82 mm for the thread. Highest wind gust today of 72 k , been blowing between 30 to 40 most of the day. Interesting last day of the thread tomorrow - plenty of wind and instability again.

Another 21mm here tipped out of the manual gauge. Not often the AWS and manual gauge agree!
68mm so far for the event.

16mm overnight and 4mm today, total up 71mm for the thread dates here now. Incredible, and the Goulburn is flooded for the 3rd time in as many weeks now.

Rainy morning up here and foggy. Had a couple more mm's. Pushed to (about) 50mm for the event.

Just looks damp and chilly today with a vigorous westerly stream. Might clip the top end of a front tomorrow with a shower or a bit of drizzle.

Much warmer weather ahead. GFS has got it approaching 35C around Mildura on the weekend and near 30C in central Vic. EC looks similar, perhaps a little cooler in the south.

It's early October but this morning feels more like early August. Cold, overcast, rainy.... Such a contrast to this time last year when we had bushfires!

Event total 26mm so far.

Almost 3omm since about 11pm Sunday night with constant rain on and off through yesterday and last night, as well as this morning.

Was this the proper front that just went through? I thought it was coming in through the afternoon.

First rain band now clearing. 12mm since midnight taking the part 2 event to 46mm. Thread now 94mm.

Last Tuesday Sept 27th, Only 1 model predicted 100+ mm for the period of Sept 28th - Oct 4th in the Macedon Ranges. The good old CMC. Interesting to see what the late morning westerly batch will bring....

More decent rainfall totals in Tasmania over the last 24 hours with frequent showers hitting mainly the North and West. 33mm at Mt Victoria and Cradle Valley the standouts. Mt Barrow 25 mm Scottsdale 18 mm, Low Head 15 mm, Deloraine 13 mm, Launceston 5.8 mm and Hobart 1 mm. Here in Grindelwald we had 8.6 mm. West Takone Radar down at the moment making it difficult to track what is approaching.

"Proper" front is crossing western Vic now stevco, I must admit I wasn't expecting this bonus bit of rain this morning, it's been quite productive. Expect about a two hour gap before the next band arrives mid/late morning.
Yes, very wintry feel Strato, spring has certainly been on hold here so far this year, a bit of warmth (even just a couple of days) will be very welcome!

Dane, how much you sitting on out East Cranbourne way?

Looking at the stats, we've done very well the last 36 hours or so compared to the rest of Melbourne for a change (apart from Mt Dandenong)

And also in Bendigo right now. Amazing Spring weather!

Eppalock now has 55cm of water flowing over the spillway. And more to come going by inflows.

And here too... rain rate of over 50mm/h.

Fair bit to come yet with that blob training directly over me.

Edit>> Absolutely BUCKETING here now. Close to 10mm out of it in the last 15 minutes.

I love it!
So much different to the more familiar bone-dry Victoria. I hope we get a wet green summer.

24mm for Kyneton now today so far. That makes is 58mm for part 2 and 106mm for the thread. I raised my bat to the heavens when we passed the 100mm. Now for the showery rubbish behind it.

BoM grossly underestimated totals up here today.

Heaps of water heading from Kyneton to Eppalock after that drenching....
