I just fired off over 400 pics to get 1 CG shot, 1 CG somehow missed the shutter when it was on full high speed auto continuous shooting

To any AWF forecaster on here...

The BoM reckons this will continue through the night. It looks like it's clearing out west.

What's the quick word on things?

Not sure who's on stevco, but hope someone can answer soon, I'd like to know as well.

Oh wow, look at the black core up near Flowerdale. While this is all fun and exciting, I really don't want to think of anyone being hurt or property damaged, feel very sorry for those affected by this amazing event today.

We have round... I don't know, 5? 6? whatever, developing here, lightning and rain starting to pick up once again.

Kilmore got smashed just now with golf balls for 10 minutes with that black core that just went through.

Yes, i think it will continue through the night but the hail threat will now diminish.

I think it may even flatten out into a thundery rain band, so more to develop tonight to our west.

Well just got the call from SES for all available members to help.
Lots of flood and building damage coming through. While I'm hoping this could go all night I might just be in for a long one if it does.
Still little cells popping up around Sunbury.

Hi all - have just arrived at melbourne airport for flight to Perth.
Traffic on the tullla was at standstill and massive trees down everywhere. Pretty certain a
Severe microburst hit the area as spread over large area and big trees down. Airport advising many customers to go home and is pandemonium here!

Thanks for the reply. It's good to have somewhere to go for an up to date forecast that doesnt update every 12 hours like a certain company with initials B-O-M

Been very lucky here, just heavy heavy rain and tiny hail <1cm, looks like the worst of it has passed to the South. No wonder the airport is closed, the weather down the calder between Taylors Lakes and the Airport was frightening when we went past.

Zero rain here today but at Buniyong about 2km south it was a different story. Lovely structure on the back end of those cells. Awesome pictures too those who took them. That's it for here, the southerly is in and the humidity seems to have gone. Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

Sh*t indeed AV, hope some of dad's crop survived! Finally a lull here, 36mm and much cooler 17.1c now, what a wonderful baptism of fire (flood) for my new weatherstation!

Trememndous falls around, 51mm here after all that, 84mm in Greensborough is the highest, 75mm Bundoora, 63mm Doncaster.

And here we go again, another round now moving in.

Geoff crops were fairly destroyed, only briefly surveyed the damage but most were shredded.

52mm at Mount Macedon MW station is a really big fall considering most of it would have fallen in about half an hour.

Starting to rain again here on the edge of some weaker cells. The worst of it looks to be over but the trough is still stalling through eastern suburbs so a bit to get through yet. It will be interesting to see if any more rain develops overnight as we get much cooler southerly winds interacting with all the moisture.

Just got an awesome effect atm as the setting sun lit up rain falling from a cell to the west and you could follow the drops from the base of the cloud right to the ground due to the unique lighting.
