Hi Macedonian
You need to shift that mountain to a better place.
You will catch up sooner or later.
Maybe when the low moves back south it will take the rain with it.
12.5 mm so far I over estimated a bit, just sounds so good on the roof.
We are just hanging in on the eastern edge with that yellow blob coming back towards us.
More to come.
Chris
That's ridiculous Macedonian, and it must be frustrating beyond belief. Hope the band edges closer to you or comes down from the north or something!
Up to about 15 mm here. We're not far from the eastern edge of the band (our place is about the 'Ba...' of Ballan on the 128 radar) but so far it's staying over us.
9mm in the gauge so far this morning Steady soaking stuff and great to hear on the roof, although easing up now. Looks like a juicy retrograding blob over Maldon at present going by the radar.

3mm here - radar looked awesome as the band approached from the east to our doorstep - then dived south!
Even the lightning was lost in the low level murk - so no pics either.

Quite an impressive satpic this morning, especially the new Himawari images. SW Vic really getting it this morning - i.e Mortlake on 25mm with barometric pressure still dropping....
Another notable total thus far is 29mm at Kyabram (all since 5:30am).
Wierd watching the winds go northeast and now rain is moving down from the north. The placement of the low is critical here.. If it edges southwest we will seen rain move down into central areas. Otherwise it will spin around us.
Macedonian, some incoming for you, but whether it will make it???
Couple of spots under that band approaching 50mm including near Dalyesford, near Anakie and near Mortlake.
Lol! The sun is out here now!
Mount Macedon, universally known as the home of sunny skies and no rainfall
Honestly Hillybilly, I don't think I could bear another swing at it!
I have decided to be happy with a coolish midsummer week that has given me 11mm in tiny dribs and drabs since last Sunday. It could be far worse! It's green here at my place and getting greener.
I no complain
Home- "Shepherd's Bush" at Mt Macedon. 870m
Work- "Bolobek" at Macedon. 430m
Low appears to be higher than bom had forecast in their maps, and in line with their recent sww. This means Melbourne in with a better shot at wrap around rather than the main wrap around being further south west
Flood watch for greater Melbourne just out 'In the 24 hours to 9AM Sunday rainfall totals of up to 47mm have been recorded in the Greater Melbourne catchments. Less than 5mm of rain has been forecast for the remainder of Sunday' we will see. Sww also cancelled
I think that was the last Hurrah. Another 6mls to take us 24.5 for this one.
On top of the 22 we had on Thurs Morn things are looking a lot different around here.
I see that, surprisingly, Castlemaine has had 75.7mls to 9 am this morning.
Can't complain about a month like that.
Cheers Chris
Good Video Stevco - those Northern and NW suburbs got the best of it last night for sure.
I only had 8.6mm's up to 9am this morning - BOM Cranbourne 11.5mm's.
Finished the month on 65.4mm's (ave 41.4mm's) so 158% of normal a good start to 2016.
BOM Cranbourne recorded 70.2mm's for the month.
Temperatures were close to average a little below the daytime average but a bit above the nightime average.
Looks like a fairly dry start for February with only a few mm's for the first week of that month.
With El Nino starting to break down I hope we finish above the yearly average after two below average years.
BTW it was my wettest January for 5 years - had 91.2mm's in 2011.
