28C here as well. Storms displaying similar behaviour to yesterday evening but frustrating atm from my perspective as it all seems to be bending around me to the west and south.

BTW, full on pink to purple sky in the west with the dark clouds as a backdrop.

Coupla beers @ the local, watched the storm come inching southwards direction, towards the end had passed and was way north Like I figured, you only had to watch the disintegration of the oncoming front combined with heat on land and air temperature to suggest it would do so, but yes it was ominous for a time there.

Enjoy the heat while it lasts, few months and we are back too good ole - vic...

family up towards st arnaud report a green looking swirling hailstorm about to hit them - yet its in the 40's there still!
I'm out the Charlton Road, we had about 15 fires, plenty of lightning, and no rain for the northern part of the town.

Beautifull evening at 27c

The sky certainly looks unstable and the humidity is twice what it was last night
A little bit more promising tonight for some storm action hopefully

Just had a little cell pass just to the north of here. Had a few splashy drops and now its producing a few sparks and the odd distant rumble.

Pretty good day here; didn't go higher than 35 C and we've had a few storms for about 5 mm of rain.

Best of all it's cool for the moment - briefly dropped to 19 C, now 20 C.

Good to see the forum back online, missed the updates while I was awake during early this morning!

Despite the higher humidity, feels less uncomfortable this evening, 'only' 31.3/16.5 here compared to 35.6/14.8 this time yesterday.

Came home to 1.5mm in the gauge and a report from the junior weather watcher of hail.

Just went outside to look at that cell passing through the SE suburbs, couldnt see any lightning. Hoping that band to the NW breaks its way over here, bit starved for storms lately.

Must say yesterday was the first time I've seen a fire warning for Doncaster East (small fire in Mullum Mullum Creek reserve near the freeway apparently).

Starting to hear the start of a rumbler line that just to the west of Geelong now, won't be much in it...

edit: that said I just saw a multi-lightning flash, yep its very active, if that's the case which I'm saying it is, I would not be surprised at all if it gains momentum over the bay as the atmosphere is still quite warm even down this way.
edited again - west .. lol, yea yea, beer 'n that

FIre sirens blaring, looks like there's not a lot in most of these storms, a lot of lightning strikes though.

Yep I agree there its dry lightning storms, bad for firey's, good for photog's.

Massive lightshow going on now to east of Geelong, over the bay will make for prime material.
edit: and yep its more interesting than the big bash .. heh :)

and the important thing to note is - its pretty much all bolt lightning.

Yep I hear ya there man, this is dry storm ignition material, make sure you keep an eye on the cfa site, but that being said it dead calm so if something does spark, then the firey should have a reasonable chance, just started to hear the start of a thundery shower, might even be a little bit heavy its tropical kind of stuff.

It was - calm, now the wind kicked up, going to be unpredictable I think, watch those dopplers, should give you an idea.

Was about to go out again then I heard the thunder, real close, personally I prefer not to be stuck.

Interesting line. Hoping it will make it to Melbourne. About to head to the bay to see if I can see anything across it. If I can I might stay there a while. Also interesting to see temperatures rising as it goes through like last night, but not to the same extremes. It's resulting in a northwesterly again pretty gusty and fresh. Easy to see on doppler.

There is a fair dose of rain coming, enough to wet the ground and moreso, still raining, it will cool the air open your doors let that heat out when it comes the wind isn't really that strong, but its better than your fans...
The lightning dies down a little as it comes over but there is enough instability in the atmosphere for it too continue through the shower.
