That storm was mental! The lightning, the thunder... everything! Watch out if you're going to be under that cell soon! Flash flooding almost certain!

I was surprised to see a fully developed storm near Macedon earlier even though it looked to be weakening? I saw some mammatus under the anvil and a properly defined shelf cloud but it was only showing yellow on the radar five minutes before. The colour of the base was awesome!

Tomorrow is looking scary! lol

Cheers, Cam :D

Just heard the first very, very faint rumble heard as husby muted the ad while watching the cricket....had the pressure headache develop about 5pm and the cat's acting very strange so there's definitely something in the air tonight...sounds like a Phil Collins song hahaha but seriously, looking to get the camera set up to TRY and get some lightning shots of these crawlers that everyone seems to be excited about! :bringiton: :lighting: :redguy:

5.8mm here. There was some heavy rainfall in it but only for a brief period. The rest of it was just moderate. Quite a bit of thunder though and some of it was quite loud.
Round 2 developing and looks better than round 1 IMO.

The lightning has been biblical. Some really great crawlers, I haven't seen this quality in years.
@The_FishmanAU is all I need to say.

This is the best I could come up with - a lot of rain preventing clear shots and my timing was well off tonight :D

Massive line developing now, stretching from Ballan almost all the way up to the Murray River. Hopefully it holds up and we get another soaking at around 11 or 12 tonight.

Just stepped outside to have a look at the lightning as light rain started here. Saw one of the longest and biggest Cc's I've ever seen, it looked like it covered a good 75-90 degree field of view in the north western sky. Even managed to catch the blurry end of another CC on the handheld camera.

Only light rain here and the odd rumble, tomorrow could get real interesting however.

The area south of Lancefield has been sitting under heavy rain for the last hour and a half or so. I'd expect 25mm plus out that way.

Going to go out and watch the light show from the west, if it's not here now it certainly will be in 1/2 hour to an hour.

This first line seems to have decayed before it got to me here, haven't seen any lightning, heard faint rumbles before but not for past 20 mins or so. Light rain starting here now but only seems to be making things all the more steamy....28.6 degrees still...

My whole western and north-western sky was full of distant flashes when I was just out there, about 80-100 a minute. What can you see from Broadford Peter?

That first line was dying by the time it got to my area, though some unbelievable crawlers flying around, some of the best I have seen in years. A pity I couldn't get more shots, but I can see the flashes from the second line in the distance now so hope the rain backs off a touch and I can get a shot or two before the night is over.

Lightning constantly looking to my South west, What a show would be at least 1 every second!!! Again it skimmed past us, but looking forward to what the next few days has in store for us.. I am thinking we must be in some sort of black weather hole.. haha, all the good exciting stuff misses us. Still Muggy here and 26 deg.

OK you guys down south, get the cameras ready. Having the most extreme lightning display I have ever seen living here, strobing, constant lightning and thunder a constant rumble, to the point that there is actually too much lightning infact but get ready. THIS IS AMAZING....... :D :D :D

Bloody hell this is incredible........and I've had 25mm.

Rhino. :) :)

Just had a hour long light show that's still going with the occassional rumble of thunder. Rain just fell out of the sky, no idea what's in the gauge yet because it's still bucketing down and the gauge is in the backyard lol.
A couple of hours ago, just before dark, we thought we were going to be missed because there were cloud banks all around us and blue sky overhead, but it's finally arrived. Looks like it's set in for a while yet too :D
Humidity here was unbelievable just before it hit. You could feel it coming. Just got the washing off the line before it started!
