Thing is my car gives the right temp after its been driving for a bit. If people take the photo before they drive then the temp is inaccurate. The car will always be hotter than the temp when its been idle for all that time.
Yep, totally annoying and goes to show how out of touch with reality many people are. I saw a fb friend claim that it was 55C in Adelaide yesterday.

That wind is really howling here with some house rattling gusts at times, makes me a little worried about the tinder
dry bushland and paddocks just 3 streets away.

Another generator has gone down at Yallourn overnight. Fun times for the electricity grid today.

Currently 31c after a 26c minimum. Cool compared to Melbourne atm...

33c here and a DP of 17c, so not overly dry. But the wind is gusty, generally in the 25 to 35 km/h range. Minimum last night was 29.8c. Way too warm - will be glad when it’s over!

Just came back from walking the dog in that disgusting windy crap. Thank god for the vegetation along the creek, which provided some wind breaks for us.

Time to start praying that no fires get going in these conditions.

I will be staggered if Victoria’s January record of 47.2C isn’t broken today by multiple locations

Local airport here gusting to about 55 km/h, currently 33c and rising.

Kilmore Gap now gusting up to 83km/h with 10 min average wind speed around 61km/h at 9.30pm. The first 40c is not far away now.

41c at Avalon, and 40c at Yarram too - that'll be a shock to them.

For today's entertainment, check out the wholesale power prices as the day progresses:

Already frighteningly expensive!

Wind has dropped right away here. This is a typical pattern on these days in the Dandenongs. Temperature is 32.5C with a DP of 17C. Feels like we should get a storm (maybe a chance if the 850T wasn't 27C :( :o :? ).

Wind change is on the surf coast now. Perhaps an hour from hitting the bottom of the bay.

38.6c here, which is the highest so far today, along with a DP of 17c. The air is getting drier, as expected, but not crazily dry. Wind is averaging around 30km/h and gusty, with a maximum gust so far of 53km/h. Awful conditions, to say the least.
