Still 100% humidity - no rain, if there was any I would hear it on flat aluminum roof easily, the front was always coming later on wednesday - 10pm or later, considering the stalling of recent troughs its not surprising that other things are slowing down too, when you also consider the multiple extreme's of weather going on around the country - nsw floods, nw cyclone - all these play a factor in the speed of a cold front approaching from the sw too, until the NE flow and related high near NZ moves the cold front will not progress much, which should happen as we go into tomorrow.
Looking ahead at the predicted barometrics you can see another high form and the same cycle of NE flow continue early next week, very strong late summer cycle with high pressure systems well south of aus, not uncommon. The more rain the land gets, the cooler it will get eventually breaking the heating cycle and then we go into autumn.
So we've had one really good cooldown over last night for central & eastern vic in terms of rain, another tomorrow at sometime, more cool air, showers, more heat but barely over 30 if that, last night was the real start of the change where before it was relentless heat.
Anyway hope the people in Melbourne and surrounds get a quencher tonight.
