Melbourne's outer south west suburbs of Werribee & Wyndham Vale both hit 40 and a little more today. Still both currently 40 Deg.
Laverton's Radar is definitely not correct for these locations, but BOM will tell you otherwise.
Was certainly hot today, don't know what it topped out here today but high 30's definitely. Don't know what to expect over the coming 48 hrs, most models giving me 5mm and really not going to expect much more, EC has 2mm for us after around 10mm this morning, OCF has 10mm so would be fantastic to get that after todays heat, but no models really getting me excited yet. Might be a few suprises in this perhaps like the last system and can only hope.
Still 39 here 43 top today!!!! :S Might be sleeping under the a/c in lounge tonight at least until the actions starts!! Looking at tomorrow morning?? late morning??? (I am hoping earlier) just a little bit of rain and a cool change!! We need to start harvesting this weekend S: not liking my chances
Around 35C here today. One thermometer (in a homemade stevensons screen) recorded 34.3C and the other one (which is a bit overexposed) recorded 35.6C. The average of the two usually comes pretty close to what it should be.
Records smashed in the west and NW. Worth noting though that the previous Mildura November record was on the 17th whilst today is 12 days more advanced towards summer. You could almost say the two rank pretty close if you apply weighting to how early in the month the record is. Also there were two consecutive days around 44C in Mildura during the 1980 November heatwave and 42C-43C in many other northwestern locations. On the 10th of December 1980 there were 44C maximums recorded in several locations in the west and northwest including Nhill and Warracknabeal.
Another extremely noteworthy temperature which was pipped by just 0.1C today, is the 44.9C recorded at Hay also on the 17th November 1980. Today it was 45.0C at Hay Airport.
Nice little shower here with the gusty change right now to clear the air a little and drop the temp to 25 C (and hopefully a bit more). Hot, humid 34 C top today - up there for November but no records for us. Our first 30 C since last summer.
Reached 37.7 today. ATM 26/19 so really humid, lightning to my south from those cells just south of Philip Island.
May get a rumble or two later tonight as the the tracker Shows some activity over the other side of the bay.
Have a feeling the bulk of this line is going to slide just south of us, but hopefully a few minutes of rain and more importantly a bit of a drop in temps! My goodness it's humid out there, the cat's head is going to explode trying to keep up with chasing all the bugs
