A very nice view of a cold pool of air behind this front approaching Vic tonight( sunday night).
Seems to be approaching from the south/west and approaching rather aggressively.
As seen on Met office Australasia B&w sat pic
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/australasia_IR.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Haven't heard you 'guys' down south talk about Monday( 2morrow)?

The front and cold pool behind looks good tonight on the sat pic and should be well and truly in the southwest by the morning?
We might get something tomorrow here in the west nth central. But usually fronts from the S/west we don't get that much here.
Our best fronts here ..deliver from the west to the east.
Just thought this front looks like its got a bit of punch.
what are you expecting out of this front.?
It looks to be already on our doorstep

Yep the rain band is becoming visable on the 512km Melbourne radar. We will be waking up to light rain probably. Ps When do you guys thinks the tempartures will become a lot warmer like 25+ deg constantly ?

Not a great deal happened at my end today, looked hazy and a bit unstable but nothing compared to yesterday, still couldn't keep my eyes off the skies in case a stray storm suddenly popped up lol :D

Went out to the Tesselaar Tulip Festival in Silvan with some relatives late this afternoon and then dined at Knox Ozone this evening, and to finish an otherwise lovely spring day, a shower passed through my area just 5-10 minutes ago :)

Lucky the trough is in NSW now or we would have storms developing on our doorstep...

Woke to rain earlier than rising, then on rising still raining.
Should have mowed the rest of the lawns, front is creeping up to a paddock.

So much for most models progging close to 10mm overnight with the rainband with the coldfront. 0.5mm here with the band :?

19.5mm for the month gonna need a big dump in the next couple of weeks to get anything close to the average for October. October is normally the wettest month of the Year here.

Sun's out here but really turned icy a couple of hours ago with the wind change. In Huonville Tasmania they are getting a little bit of snow

4.2mm in my gauge at 9AM this morning, was just before the second rainband and follow-up showers moved into the Dandenongs, will have a better idea of how much has fallen since then by 9AM tomorrow morning, since my gauge is part of an electronic weather station :)

18C on my thermometer atm, feels a little cooler because of the breeze but otherwise it's not too bad... was only 11C when I got out of bed this morning lol :)

Quite a few showers likely this afternoon as another front moves in from the west, strong and gusty NW/W winds likely ahead of the change so it will feel quite cold out there.

Warmer weather later week with the chance of showers and thunderstorms developing.

I photographed a beautiful 'halo' around the Sun at about 11AM this morning, just magical! :D

Good thing I saw it when I did, that layer of high cirrus cloud is largely hidden from view now by darker cumulus, looks like another cold rainy day on the cards for Melbourne :)

Edit: the Sun is back out, but can't see any 'halo' atm.

Great, will be camping for the next week or 2.
That rain is coming in a bit fast, was looking quite light 10 mins ago but a bit of yellow on the radar now.

At the moment it's behaving like one of those snotty SW fronts that dribbles out just a bit of rain, with cold winds and overcast skies. Hopefully it turns into something more meaty.

Got home from a long weekend away in Blairgowrie and tipped out 9mm here, that's for the whole week.

The storms managed to bypass us over the weekend for the most part, except for a few mm on Sunday morning. Was sunny but very breezy at the Portsea Hotel for lunch.
