Moderate to major flooding for the Goulburn-Broken basin possible according to the flood watch. BOM never does that, the normally only say "Minor to Moderate with more serious flooding if the rainfall is on the higher end of the scale" or something to that effect. Looks like they are going all in at this stage.

Anthony, do you think the other models still have room for further upgrading of totals in the next 24 hours?

On a side note, Cu is becoming much more susbtantial in size and number over the last 15-20 minutes.

Scott Williams from the BOM just said on ABC that during Wed spot averages for the nth central areas will be 60-70mm with falls focusing on nth-slopes and possible local falls 100mm+ if storms are thrown in the mix. He said the Loddon and Goulburn river system could have major problems.Flood watches have 100mm falls for the Loddon, Avoca and Campaspe catchments and higher on the Goulburn. :o

Rhino. :) :)

Horsham about to get smashed HUGE storms forming in NW Vic and moving South watch out if under them will dump 50mm easy and lightening looks to be very intense with them as well

Storms starting to fire right across NW Vic and SW NSW

There will be major flooding i checked out all those rivers yesterday and they are running VERY High and this coming system has almost record moisture with it so rain will come down in buckets 100mm falls will be easy to come by

VERY active 72 hours ahead

OMG at those Storms at Horsham

I think that you will get that today.

Things are on the move now and developing nicely over the state. Should see the first cluster of storms flatten into thundery and further showers and thunderstorms moving into the N Central and C areas over the coming 3 hours.

Cloud cover starting to thicken up a bit here, which has taken the bite out of the temps a tiny bit. DP's dropped off a bit too. North/ north west starting to look increasingly interesting. next 3 hours are going to be very interesting to watch.

Longerenong 26mm in an hour (could've been in less time) from that cell.

Looking at obs they had 5mm in 5 minutes from 1:30 to 1:35, then another 17.2mm in 25 minutes.

Yeah Petros, I hope something can eventuate your way. Activity is very slow going there unlike in the west of the state. So you need something to form near you.

Otherwise, I suspect the activity currently stretching from Horsham to the northeast, will start to move more south rather than southeast over the next few hours, similar to what the activity is doing east o Swan Hill currently.

I hope something can make it down this way. Looks interesting outside to my north/northwest.

OMG The convection to my N, NE, E, SE, is exploding like i have only seen in the USA before there will be huge storms today and even bigger ones expected tomorrow this system is going to Flood so many and will round out the wettest 2 months in history for many folk

Watch Mildura radar closely firing all over the shop atm big stuff firing in S, SW NSW looking unreal.

HUGE few days massive falls expected

31/18 with light NE wind dont get much more unstable than that

Longerenong in the Wimmera has had 26mm in the past 30 minutes, more than enough to create flash flooding. (Just out of Horsham)
Stopped raining here for a while :rainfall:
