Blob of rain lurking in Bass Strait threatening to deliver a wet morning for us. Not sure if it will make it or not.

Almost 30mm here in total for the event after another drenching in the late evening. Looking like it will be very wet today through the east of Melbourne and parts of Gippsland.

2.5mm mostly from late arvo drizzle yesterday for us here. Have mild temps and strong NW'ly now as the low tightens and moves rapidly SE over the NE tip of Tassie.

I what was thinking of the term 'just plain foul weather' here today so comparable. Light rain/drizzle this morning when I walked into see the partner and to do the volunteer work I do at the aged care home where she is a resident and it decided to rain even heavier while I was walking home a short time ago. :(

Total for the month a mammoth 134mm.

Relieved to miss the worst of the rain here and avoid more flooding (just) with only 13mm for the dates. Still, that brings our August total to 127.5mm, our second wettest August in 25 years.

I reckon our 655mm ytd would be right up there, though I don't have time to crunch the numbers right now. By comparison, we've had 5 years where the annual total was less than that. No wonder it's wet!

We had a decent frost this morning to close out August. Which ended up on 100mm of rain for us in total. A very productive month!

The Avoca river is now in Minor flood near Charlton, and Lake Eppalock has slowly nudged up to 60%.

The big storages near the Alps are effectively full. Eildon is at 94%, Hume and Dartmouth are full, and the Thomson Dam is at 95.5% and may overflow for the first time since Spring 1996.

A further 4mm yesterday to boost our August total to 199.25mm.

One of the wettest months I’ve seen since moving to Warragul.

I had 87 days with single digit max temps.
Ironically, none of them were super cold.
Coldest max of winter was 4.1°.

A late maximum of 9c, so a fairly chilly one, especially with a strong southerly breeze. But it has become progressively sunnier as the afternoon has gone on.

We had just over 14mm last night to kickstart the new month. Like many places, August was pretty wet here, with a total of 149mm.
