Probably the worst wind we've had so far this year and still no STW??

On the way to the Avalon Airshow. It had been raining the whole way from leaving Melbourne. Rather steady rain also. Judging by radar, looks by the time we reach Avalon, it will have cleared that area (well I'm hoping it would have).
One of those elevated warm frontal features with the onset of the strong warm air advection. Lucky with the timing on this one, as it would have got HOT if it had clear a bit earlier. Reckon we would have given 38C a shake with the 850T near 20C. I'm not complaining ;)

25C here today and muggy... had quite a few spitty showers, but now waiting for approaching band.

Just got the shock of my life when I saw the radar just then. :o

Shouldn't get too excited as knowing my luck the local storm shield will kick in and ruin it.

emergencyvic.info showing plenty of action around the Avoca/Maryborough/Daylesford area.

If that somehow makes it through the storm shield, could get interesting.

I'd say 100 km/h gusts here hillybilly, watched a 3 metre arm-thick branch fly about 30 metres and lodge in my shed door :o ! Thought we'd have a window broken with smaller airborne branches slamming into the south side of the house with the wind change but luckily not - I think. Settling down a bit now.

It seems to have penetrated the shield, rain and some thunder and the wind is picking up here in Sunshine.

There's something seriously wrong with the Doppler radar. The last two systems now it has shown what appears to be heavy rain (orange/red on the scale) and we have seen only light to moderate rain hit the ground. The humidity is through the roof with the passage of this front so there is no reason the rain should not be hitting the ground.

I wonder if this has any link whatsoever with all the radar interference and nonsense we have been getting lately (i.e. oversensitivity or something).

These are 100% LP cells. All we are getting here is some moderate squally wind and a few dribbles of rain despite some very impressive visuals with the cloud structure etc.

Also, lightning has miraculously stopped with the passage of the band. The whole band is collapsing thanks to night fall and loss of diurnal heating.

More substantial weather should develop overnight with a band of rain if models are right.

Still pretty calm here - no thunder or lightning and only a few spots of rain
Appears to be weakening rapidly - why am I not surprised.

That's one of the sharper wind changes I've seen lately. Went from almost nothing to windy in about a minute. Just a few spits of rain. Saw a couple of nice CG's about 5km away to the West.

It was a non event anyway. The only phenomena likely around the coast and bays is damaging squalls. Up here I'd guess we barely got 50km/hr with a few gusts. The squalls that come with these summer fronts are usually confined to the Melbourne and Western Port areas.

Have NO idea what to make of this...

Looked outside, got hit in the eye by something

Tiny spits of rain, no lightning or thunder, EPIC radar?

Edid: stopped all of a sudden?

Great gusts of wind... but my call not to head out to get photos seems to be correct, bugger all lightning and just rain.
