Just drove to the local shops to get something for my little daughter. Driving on some of the semi rural roads and all i can say is oh my god. If 10mm today does that much flooding, then we are in SERIOUS trouble when the 30mm + days come. And they will.

Water over roads everywhere, still 9 hours after the rain stopped.

I hate to think what it's like in western victoria

Up to 42mm for event and still raining. Some impressive totals in the Southern Mallee too.

Up to 70mm here now for this event, 51mm today, easing off now thankfully. Have had 105mm now since friday so can stop raining until october please.

Managed another 10mm today before it eased off. Mum and dad have had 20mm and that's since mid-afternoon, so quite moderate in their region, local creeks flooded again down that way, won't be much more until the roads will be flooded also.

More on the way overnight in Melbourne as it develops from the north again. Will likely clear out by early afternoon to mainly affect northern and northeast parts of the state. Then the wrap around will affect the southwest later tomorrow and into Thursday. This will shift across Melbourne Thursday morning before clearing out in the afternoon.

It's been belting down rain for past couple of hours. Lucky our big reservoirs have some space.... for now.

We haven't had rain like this since 2010/11. Next week might see more of the same.

1mm here overnight. Sometimes I feel like I live in a different state (usually because it's 5C colder here and wet most the time) but this time it's because it's not raining.

Rainband proper moving in here now as the cold air wraps around its northern part, and the warm air around its bottom.

Must be quite a few spots are near or passed Sepptember monthly records and some daily September records.

After this band I'd wouldn't be surprised if we see convection fire in the clearer air. GFS had LI this afternoon dropping locally to around -2 near the divide and to the south.

G'day Chris, haven't been down yet but looks to be no problems, can see someone standing near the entrance to the playground area off bucknall st and would be getting up towards the backs of the houses but really just a normal flood height so should be ok.

Another 10mm overnight to take my total for the past 24 hours to 27mm, and 54mm since Sunday night.

Really need the tap to be turned off as the clay soils out here just can't handle it. Backyard is completely saturated with some of my path already flooded. Scary to think what the guys out west must be going through.

Sun's out 68mm so far and local creeks are rivers. Some real problems with flooding in pockets.

45 mm will be our 9 am reading here, bringing the event total to 73 mm here. A number of local roads are flooded & we're at the top of the catchment - downstream flooding must be a real a problem.

Relieved to see a clear radar for now - any significant rain event next week doesn't bear thinking about.

128k radar looks like it is clearing but more is on the way on the 512k. Need some more in the dams, still lower than last year.

to 9am here brings my MTD to 48.7m's (ave 72mm's.)

must be their wettet month for ages.

Need some more in the dams, still lower than last year.

Not in west or central Vic. All storages (with the possible exception of Rocklands) will fill & spill on the strength of what we've had already this winter/ spring - many already have. This is the East Moorabool just above Bostock Reservoir this morning. It's a minor tributary at the very top of the catchment - Bostock was effectively empty in May and it will spill today.
