Lots of convection out there can almost see it as clear as day with the city/suburb lights. Best night time lighting we have had down here last was early morning 3AM in Feb 2010 with lovely clear air cells going for hours.

Flew in from a week on the GC late last night and didn't see anything in the distance. Couldn't buy a storm up there..had a balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean but nothing occurred. Glad to come home to some stormy weather! Hopefully get some good totals and a rumble or two.

Certainly become more active last 5-10 minutes from the occasional flash every 1-2min now to one ever 10-20secs. Getting brighter and louder too. Not an amazing storm but a nice start to the day!

Ha! Ha! That woke me up! Very nice little storm, a direct hit here, almost constant lightning and thunder for about 10 minutes, and torrential rain. Just rushing around to see if my roof repairs have worked, and yes, no leaks!

Saw some decent crawlers come right over the top here but never bothered to get the camera out till after it passed and got 1 garbage shot in the distance lol

That cell has developed a big black core as it's passed over Gembrook way, heading S/E. More red cells brewing up crossing the bay, and to the N/W, what a great start to an event!

Watching the Melbourne radar like a hawk from Italy... I envy you guys ATM!!! Had a great light show from the balcony here yesterday, looking north (from Sicily). Tommorows forecast for here has thunderstorms...maybe i wont miss out completely hahahah storms have been really intense here the last few weeks..!

I can see the flashes but rarely a CG, they are on the back side of the rain going by radar. There was a interesting low weak gust front that came through more from the south about 20 mins ago to
